Agree. It's the conversion of chances that needs sorting. Front 3 have to carry the can. ....and for what it's worth I thought the ref had a shocker today. He gave us absolutely every decision. I'd be fuming if I was a Wigan fan that 1st half! That's one for evening it up I'd say.
Not the time to panic. Suggesting wholesale changes is not taking into account how we are still mullering teams everywhere but the score line. A point off the top and still 2nd. Yes it’s hugely disappointing but we have to keep going and pray we have a bit more luck at both ends. Hopefully by next weekend everyone will be fully integrated and we go again.
No Davy, it doesn't. The fact we're moaning about all the missed chances proves there was plenty of creativity and imagination in the build up play. It's just that our finishing was **** - as per usual.
From what I saw Wigan had 2 lines, 5&4 when we were attacking. We still got half chances that we didn't take which has been the problem all year. You just can't teach composure. I'd love to have seen JKA on the bench but I'm not sure Bielsa would have used him, just like he didn't use Poveda again. It's very frustrating as a fan but I still believe in Bielsa. Imagine being a Wigan fan watching your team digging a fkn trench on the edge of your own box. Yes you won the game but fk watching that **** every week.
F**cling hell, itll take years to knock all that PSG training out of him to make him play like Paddy!
TBF Davy you can't legislate for hitting the post or your striker missing sitters again, or your keeper ****ing up. I watched most of the game before the link went and I thought we did create enough to at least score. But if teams like Wigan come just to get a point and have 9 men back most of the time, it makes it a lot harder to break them down.
Just out of interest Shako. You're extremely positive about everything (that's a compliment by the way). Would you stick or twist at the moment? I'm trying but I can't find many positives to say about the front 3 or the keeper. It's not just a couple of games now is it?
I don’t agree Forza. We repeatedly used the same two approaches. Right side - work the ball to Costa, let him get to the bye-line and try to force a cross through Naismith. He never cut the ball back as far as I can remember. Left side - give the ball to Alioski/Roberts, wait for Harrison to overlap and cross. Don’t cross early. Don’t shoot from 20 yards from right in front of goal. Don’t deviate. Very predictable today.
It was a freak goal that Casilla should have dealt with but he had 2 players all over him. For the next corner we got some of ours in there to block but the problem is that they're as likely to cause the keeper problems as the opponents. I was listening to the radio about this during the week and someone, can't remember who, said the way to deal with it is to shout orders to your defence right in the fkrs ears. He said they soon move away. It's what the **** teams do
Emu, I'm certainly not a positive person, but when I'm not drinking I can take a step back and take a breath and think before I comment. I also think of what we've put up with prior to Bielsa's arrival and where we are at the present. As an ordinary fan I'd have had the new striker on the bench, I'd have brought the young lad we got from Man.City on and I'd have played two up front from the start. But I've never coached before at any level, so as frustrating as Bielsa's decisions seem, I just have to trust him.
You've not seen me play ristac, but I'm very confident I would have got more on target than Banford did from them chances.
