Nonsense. Man invented religion, and many religious holy books contain disturbing stuff that leaves little open to interpretation.

Also want to follow Crouching's suit and reaffirm just how much I'm distancing myself from the idea of killing people who are religious by the way.

    I wasnt referring to you.

Bigoted is just a made up word. You cannot be a bigot over something that isnt real.

    big·ot·ed Adjective/ˈbigətid/

    1. Obstinately convinced of the superiority or correctness of one's own opinions and prejudiced against those who hold different opinions.

    2. Expressing or characterized by prejudice and intolerance

I think you'll find bigoted is very much a word.

Hes hurting his team mates and his nations chances at the World Cup.

I am not as bad as religion. I am not responsible for the deaths of billions. I havent raped 1000s of children and nor have I abused my power in any way shape or form.

Religion is as evil as hitler. Would you strike me down for having the same views on hitler? No, of course you wouldnt.

Some people see the evil religion brings and the hurt it causes. Others choose to stay blind.

    Boo hoo.

As for the OP - prove my mum wrong and I'll take your pathetically stupid opinion seriously. If you can't, STFU.

Lets see how intelligent you really are, man's interpretation of religion is what causes the problems not the religion itself. Prove that my comment is wrong, let the world see how clever you are :)

Of course football is everything... if someone values "religion" above football he is mad. Hmm.

I never said that. You're twisting my words, which are that the religious are weak of mind, not that the irreligious are necessarily strong of mind.

It's possible to have both an intelligent and a weak mind. A mind which understands things very well, but at the same time craves some kind of imaginary friend called a 'god'.

    <ok>

No-one will ever dispute that. But I am disputing the accuracy of what those individuals have chosen to believe/imagine.

There isn't a 'right' answer yet to whether there are invisible frogs living in our rectums and throwing chocolate ice-cream into our intestines. The onus of proof is on the believers, and if they can't supply any proper evidence, they should be written off as daydreamers.

I really don't mind what Murray does with his time. But I don't think any reasonable organization should postpone or alter its events just because of religious protests. Unless they specifically cater for religious people or something.

Religion shouldn't get in the way of sport. If you are that much of a christian, you would stop playing sport professionally and do a full-time commitment to be honest.

He didn't say you were as bad as religion, he said u were as bad as a religious extremist... very different thing. You're coming across as an extremist atheist (which is a surprisingly fun thing to say out loud). To me you're beginning to come across as a WUM...

What did your mum say? I will gladly prove her wrong...

Out of interest can I fabricate a number of tall tales in order to prove her wrong? You know, the way religion does it.

I'd read my earlier post mate, I needed to clarify my first post as it wasn't expressed clearly. I'm with you that it's down to interpretation, hence my reasoning that it can be both positive and negative. I just think calling people 'muppets' and then retorting with 'boo hoo' seems a little puerile. <ok>

Why the hell is this on a football forum?

There's a general chat board for stupid threads like these.

Engage your brain and read the title and the OP.

It clearly states imagine if we had a weirdo like this in football.

    Hope that helps.

Like what ? What religious books contain disturbing stuff ? Of the 5 main religions none of them say you should hurt anyone or kill anyone. they all teach that you should be a good person and there will be some kind of reward in the after life or a future life.

    Qualify your statement man !

Religion is just a set of beliefs about the world, most of them positive. It is people who bring them to life and add most of the negative parts in. I fail to see the point in telling people what to believe, if you look at the past you will find that it causes more trouble than it solves.

Ok wasn't so much trying to twist your words, my understanding of 'weak mind' was lack of intelligence, which you didn't mean so fair enough.

I would suggest that if you taste that chocolate ice cream there would be a 'right' answer... However its not up to a person to prove their belief, imo a belief is pretty much an opinion. I believe that that some higher conciousness exists that started/ some form of fate. I can't prove that but that doesn't matter, I'm not forcing it on anyone that's just what I believe. Not that I follow any kind of organised religion or live my life any differently to what i would otherwise. There isn't an onus of proof until you want to enforce the belief on the population which fortunately is becoming less and less common around the world.

What the **** is this nonsense doing on our board? These posts have nothing whatsoever to do with either football or NUFC. The devil makes work for idle minds!

As for me, I remember when I first found out the Santa Claus didn't exist. I cried and cried all the next day. In the end, my boss had to tell me to leave the office and go home.

Irrespective of whether or not religion was invented by man or not the fact remains that the religion itself is interpreted by other humans, many of Which have a agendas. The actual religions themselves do not preach hatred, bigotry, murder or any of these negative ideals. So you CANNOT say the religion is bad, it is man's interpretation of the religion that is the problem.

    Now prove that wrong :)
