WTF was the point in spending tens of thousands in legal fees to appeal our transfer ban (which would have been lifted next summer anyway), if we weren't gonna sign anyone? Melts Reminds me of the People's front of Judea in Life of Brian! Chelsea: We need to fight to sign players Fans: Whats the point? Chelsea: Huh? Fans: What's the point in fighting to sign players if we aint gonna sign any players? Chelsea: But we are fighting for the RIGHT to sign players Fans: But whats the ****ing point? Chelsea: It's symbolic of our struggle against oppression! Christ almighty!
I'm very happy with it tbh. Glad we didn't just chuck money for the sake of it. Plenty good enough to finish top 4 imo.
Its not so much that we didnt sign anyone, its that we appealed the ban, then didnt sign anyone? What was the ****ing point?
But what if we didn't appeal the ban and a decent signing became available? I don't know what went on behind the scenes.
I think 4th is probably yours to lose. Can't see Utd or Spurs being consistent enough to take it off you. Wolves just might though.
aye dont get me wrong, if you'd have offered me 4th with a 6 point buffer, 24 games into the season, i'd have taken your hand off. Given that we lost our best player and employed a rookie manager, the most I could have asked for is staying in the CL, realistically. Not upset with our position, just find it funny that we appealed so we could sign players, then after we went through the whole legal process, chose not to bother
Your rookie manager's doing alright though, isn't he? And your owner seems willing to give him time, if not money. Some things are more important than money, even in football. Where the **** is the Russian anyway?
To an extent. We have lost 8 games and are 4th with a 6 point buffer. That shouldnt be happening if the chasing pack were any good, but unfortunately for you guys, you are ****.
Aye that because technically it isnt a transfer ban, you can sign anyone you want, you just cannot register new players into your squad, but because Kovacic was already registered from his loan period, it was okay. It was kinda a loophole. And obviously Pulisic was signed and registered prior to the ban
