We are delighted to announce that Rose has ****ed off for a bit. We wish him well and hope he enjoys the Mars value pack we placed in his kit bag.
Then it's time to pay him to leave. If that's what it takes to resolve matters, then so be it. I'm pretty sure that he would go, if we offered him enough of what he's due over the next 18 months to go now and he could negotiate a deal elsewhere as a free agent.
One thing worth noting: all the youngsters loaned out this month were born between 1997-2000, Georgiou at one end of the scale (along with Amos) while Eyoma and Shashoua are at the other Using this as a base, the following members of our U23s could still be loaned (ones who I think actually will in bold) Jonathan De Bie Jonathan Dinzeyi Tariq Hinds Brooklyn Lyons-Foster Jeremie Mukendi Tashan Oakley-Boothe Jubril Okedina Phoenix Patterson Rodel Richards Maxwell Statham Elliot Thorpe Alfie Whiteman In case anyone asks, I consider Tanganga and Skipp first-teamers, hence their not being on the list
Have just poured myself a beer and am sitting here contemplating the last 2 hours of another dull deadline day. Overhyped by the media as usual but today we have to ask questions about why we have not bought a striker. Do Jose's comments about not making 'short term' signings actually make sense? We have signed 2 players that improve our match day squad and cleared out a couple who were adding very little. (and Lo celso is now ours) I am disappointed with no number 9 coming in, but if the manager is being honest and doesn't think that the right players were available then we have to believe him. Maybe Bergwijn will be the missing link amongst our attacking options and at least we may now have a threat from the bench as I don't expect Son, Moura and Bergwijn to all start very often. Onwards and hopefully upwards starting with City on Sunday couldn't have asked for a better game to show off our new ideas!!
Apparently, we can't loan Parrott out until he's 18, otherwise we sod up his status. So we're prevented from making a mistake by loaning him out. Probably the best news of the day.
So in the last two and a half years, we've sold/ lost Bennetts, Madueke, Griffiths, Edwards and now Oakley-Boothe. In the meantime, the likes of KWP (until the recent loan) and Skipp have been starved of football at any level, Parrott similar this season, whilst Tanganga has enjoyed a stint in the first team of late. What. A. Mess.
