all true. having cds and youtube instead of vinyl that gets "deleted" is a boon, as is the mass of information now available. i'm also aware that the rear-view mirror allows me to ignore alleged "party lines" such as mods v rockers, oasis v blur, donny o v david c, and all that other nonsense, real or imagined. chances are that i might not have appreciated much of it at the time. some bands and artists have taken a very long time to worm their way into my affections. same with some styles - i never thought i'd like jazz, but some of it i do.
