It won't be Bowen himself, it will be whoever's negotiating for him and I'd still expect the deal to get done.
If the contract is for 5.5 years he wants to know he's going to be getting a good wage in the future if he does well. How can anybody survive on less than £60k a week for a long time!?
I'm sure that's the case but if it falls through because they stick at £60k they'll be very foolish. Still, while I know the 'your worth what you can get' line, he still isn't worth 60k/week yet!
you’re kinda missing the point.... he wants parity with what his colleagues would be getting. If your colleagues were earning £30k /annum & they offered you £20k would you accept? Out of principle I wouldn’t £60k / week isn’t a lot in prem terms (it is in the real world!)
**** me, I'm not judgemental or anything, but have you seen the picture of Maddison? De Wijs looks angelic in comparison! https://www.hullcitytigers.com/maddison-arrives-on-loan/
I bet it’s a pile of bollocks, it’s the media cranking up the pressure and willing him to fail already
Football wage negotiations are weird. If clubs offer different transfer fees then the club would want to sell for the best deal. Then the player is only negotiating with one club and there's no competition. You can say there's no competition for the club either. If the move breaks down does the selling club have to go back to the club with the second best deal? Will the player get better wages? Does the club think the player is as good as the other club did?
I thought he was younger than that. Better hit the ground running, wonder why he’s been stuck at Posh for so long.
He’s got the ****test collection of tattoos. I’m not a fan of them. As long as he can play football he can tattoo his entire face if he wants
The average weekly wage as reported in the Guardian, from Global Sports Salary Survey, £61,024. As you say, not a lot in the Prem.
