How much is Hernandez worth?

6 months after Little Pea arriving and hitting the ground running, how much is he worth in today's transfer market? He scores for fun, and important goals too. Not the 4th when the game is already won.

The Carroll fee was a joke. He's worth £20 mill tops. Hernandez is worth at least £25 mill of anyones money. Apart from filthy City. If they want him, it's £50 mill.

Wums will be asphyxiated, cut into small bits and dumped on a pig farm. Or fed to my dog. Whatever satisfies me most. You have been warned.

He's worth more than Andy Carroll, but less that Luiz Suvarez. Probably more that Giggs, maybe less than Scholes, about the same as Fletcher. It's impossible to objectively say what any footballer is "worth" cos there's no real market for them. You don't go down the shops and say "I'd like three footballers please". You approach a club and tell them you'd like to buy one of their players and agree a price between yourselves. So he could be worth £10 million if we decide to sell him and no one's relaly interested. Or he could be worth £50 million if some other club sells their top striker on the last day of the transfer window and has to desperately scrabble around for a replacement.

Although in general I think you are overhyping him a bit. He's done great in his first half season, but he can be a bit one dimensional, and seems to rely on getting in behind the defenders in order to have a chance at scoring. That's the kind of thing that he could be found out for in his second season. I'm hoping he can add more strings to his bow over the second half of the season, that way he could really be great for us.

Swarbs you can't mark a player who is constantly moving like Hernandez does. That is why he scores and honestly we have not seen his full potential yet so there will be more to come.

Chamahk has scored the same amount of goals this season as Hernandez, plus has 1 more assist, in the PL

So Chamakh > Little Pee <ok>

Hernández: 27 appearances in all comps. 11 goals = 40.75% hit rate
Chamakh: 30 appearances in all comps. 10 goals = 33.33% hit rate

    You do the math.

Of course, that's ignoring the fact that many of Hernández appearances have been as a sub late in games

Just like an Arsenal fan to write off a player before he's had a chance. It's not long since you lot were booing Eboue yet now you worship him (mind you he's still crap).

Stats are overused these days. They don't tell you the whole story ie. the importance of goals, the general problems a player causes, how easy he is for other players to play with etc etc. Hernandez has very good stats, but he also has a certain 'star quality' you can't quantify.

Players your fans have written off but now say are world class: Anderson, Fletcher, Berbatov, Nani, Evans (except he was world class now he is written off ), Evra, Vidic, Carrick (same as Evans) and Rooney (same as Evans).

Yes, but if constant movement is all he has then defenders will just adapt to him over time. Look at Ronaldo - he was difficult to tackle, but defenders just learnt to crowd him out until he overcomplicated and lost the ball. So he learnt to head, cut inside, arrive late in the box and do a lot more, and thus became the world's best player. Hernandez will still be good, but if he doesn't keep learning and improving he risks ending up more like Owen than Ronaldo...

I'd only say Hernandez is worth 6, maybe 7 million but thats because he's coming off the bench more often than not to have a go at tired defenders.

I'll like to see him start some games consecutivly and see how he copes. He could be worth a hell of a lot though.
Potentially good striker you lot have.

No it's not. Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I've just been berating the wife for not having my lunch ready on time, whilst watching women degrading themselves in hardcore porn films.
