As opposed to a Saudi prince and the return of the fat Spanish dinosaur? You are in for quite a rude awakening if both happen. I may well be in a minority of one, but if either of these things happen, I will go support my local team and sever all bonds. I detest the anonymity of foreign owners and the dearth of domestic players. I also ain't prepared to watch any more Benitez anti football - not that I believe the report to be anything other than a wind up by the Sun.
You're not a minority of one, I would also consider leaving Newcastle behind if the entire club was transformed into an unrecognizable entity. I also would detest the return of Rafa Benitez, who treats his coaching as if it is some cold, sanitized office environment. No forward thinking wealthy football club should consider him. I can only see this saving grace, if PCP Partners are the face of this deal, they will be the representatives and it won't be some cold, unfeeling entity in the middle east. Also, if the club hires a Pochettino, or someone similar, focuses on youth development over purchasing big names from abroad, we can hopefully retain the aspects of Newcastle everyone loves. What's happened to City is scary, and not something I want Newcastle to become. What's happened to Liverpool is amazing, and what I want Newcastle to become. But, to be honest, a large responsibility falls on the fans. If we are being honest, City never had the largest fan base, they were easily bought and transformed into something completely different. Newcastle are the only club in a large city, with a large fanbase there. They can keep that local club vibe that Liverpool has and keep the club down to earth.
Think you need to go and look at Manchester and look what the owners have done, not just in ensuring development of world class training and academy facilities but commitment to the local population. I put far more faith in seeing home grown players in our team in future through the development of world class facilities than I do with Ashley and his wheelie bin ice baths.
So let me get this straight - fans would give up on the club if money and ambition arrived into NUFC and the whole region, but will keep on trucking alongside Mike ****ing Ashley? Jesus ****ing wept.
I don't care what they've done. Anybody despotic, totalitarian dictorship regime is better than that fat slug. North Korea.... Are watching????
The ONLY comment that makes any sense to me is as follows: "If, for any reason, Mike Ashley does NOT sell the club this time, then I'm done." This is where we are. This is absolutely it, our end game. Every journalist of note - not just respected publications like the WSJ or FT, but Chris Waugh, George Caulkin, etc. - says "the deal is as advanced as it can be, it now hinges on the say so of ONE man only. There's nothing else." If that fat, useless, greedy, arrogant **** doesn't sell the club now, by Friday, he absolutely never will. That will ensure anti-football, **** managers, relegations and wheelie bin baths til the bastard dies. Even then he'll probably give the club to his ****wit son in law to drive further into the ground. So, for me, if this isn't the end of the Ashley "era", then I'm ****ing done. I'm not watching this brand of "football", I'm not waiting for more half-arsed loans or Joelinton's to walk into the club, I'm not going to watch 6 years of Bruce to be eventually replaced by another Schteve McLaren. No more takeover sagas, no more "lowest possession/xg" stats, 9 at the back. None of this represents Newcastle United.
You guys have done well to drag 14 pages out of this He isn't going to sell even if there is genuine interest. He's very happy.
Yep, quite possibly. Likelihood is it’s “for sale” to appease fans, and the only delay at the moment is working out, with KBA, how to spin this. I’d imagine they’re trying to decide between human rights ethics, or painting Staveley as untrustworthy.

As the days go by and this invented deadline nears Roland is getting crazier and crazier. If it doesn't go off on Friday I imagine he'll blow up St James'
Apparently the last sticking point is his requirement to have Sports Direct advertising and an outlet in the Great Mosque in Mekkah.
According to some kid on twatter, Ashley is asking for the implication of democracy in Saudi before he will sell yet another British cultural asset. Another twatterite apparently witnessed Ashley ranting at Stavely, repeatedly saying 'show me the money!'. Out of Europe, into the Middle East. I finally understand you northern brexiters. How does broad Geordie sound in Arabic?
