His English seems to be basically perfect, which is both a good thing and totally expected for a Dutch player.

I think it was something the club probably listed as a requirement when choosing who to sign this window. Coming into a club in January is a lot tougher than the summer so speaking English certainly helps. Both Gedson and Bergwijn speak it pretty fluently, as does Piatek should we sign him.

I’m hoping the Giroud links are to try and put pressure on Milan into doing a deal for Piatek. Although Romano is now saying Hertha Berlin are also trying to sign Piatek on a straight permanent deal, we want loan with option.
Hertha seem determined to be annoying this window, as they were linked with Wanyama only to sign Santiago Ascacibar from Stuttgart (and I was saying how he could be a low-key solution at DM for us just before they did it, of course...), then a couple of days ago they signed Lucas Tousart from Lyon on a buy-and-loan-back deal to remove another DM option from the table (and ruin my suggestion of just signing all of Lyon's midfield from last season...), and now they're linked with Piatek Luckily none of us are Leicester fans and won't post any remarkably bitter tweets that require somebody else to explain the supposed joke...
