Cheers chaps. Yes I have read up on his history but I still don’t know if he’s any good! But it’s good that Moura and Son have someone to worry about. Son, Moura and Sess are not playing well at the moment and need competition for their positions.
...and of course, r/coys responded to Bergwijn's signing by asking "Does this mean we're selling Son in the summer?" No, but if I were Erik Lamela or Lucas Moura right now...
His English seems to be basically perfect, which is both a good thing and totally expected for a Dutch player.
If we sell Son, the stadium will be half empty...and the shop. His fan club is paying for this shopping extravaganza.
I think it was something the club probably listed as a requirement when choosing who to sign this window. Coming into a club in January is a lot tougher than the summer so speaking English certainly helps. Both Gedson and Bergwijn speak it pretty fluently, as does Piatek should we sign him.
Full name Steven Charles Bergwijn Date of birth 8 October 1997 (age 22) Place of birth Amsterdam, Netherlands Height 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) Playing position Winger He shares my Birthday, my Height and my playing position. True he is a little younger but apart from that
One thing in his favour is that he has the endorsement of Van der Vaart. If anyone knows what will make the WHL faithful happy, it is him.
Twitter is currently filled with Goons complaining about how a player who left the club to join Chelsea would be tarnishing his Nomad legacy, just like that other player who left them to join Chelsea who then went on to join Spurs did They really are a wound-up bunch, aren't they?
I’m hoping the Giroud links are to try and put pressure on Milan into doing a deal for Piatek. Although Romano is now saying Hertha Berlin are also trying to sign Piatek on a straight permanent deal, we want loan with option.
Hertha seem determined to be annoying this window, as they were linked with Wanyama only to sign Santiago Ascacibar from Stuttgart (and I was saying how he could be a low-key solution at DM for us just before they did it, of course...), then a couple of days ago they signed Lucas Tousart from Lyon on a buy-and-loan-back deal to remove another DM option from the table (and ruin my suggestion of just signing all of Lyon's midfield from last season...), and now they're linked with Piatek Luckily none of us are Leicester fans and won't post any remarkably bitter tweets that require somebody else to explain the supposed joke...
