Good Morning. It's Wednesday 29th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Rampant Leeds make amends for first half display

Leeds came from two goals behind to beat the boys from Bermondsey as Bielsa's half time team talk transformed the team from abysmal to unplayable.

Millwall's first goal was in typical style. Leeds failed to mark their opponents properly following a deep inswinging corner. Wall Centre back Hutchinson lost his marker (Ayling) and headed the visitors ahead after just four minutes.

The second was more controversial. The ball had clearly gone out of play on the side lines moments before, yet the officials had not seen it. Bradshaw was tussling with Alioski for possession on the left hand side of the penalty area when Ayling (not Alioski) was adjudged to bring the Lions number 9 down to give him his second penalty in consecutive games against the Whites.

Jed Wallace stepped up to show the Leeds players how to take a penalty.

Leeds had their chances in the first half. There was one shot in particular from Stuart Dallas that forced Polish International keeper Białkowski into a breathtaking save, only for the official to signal for a goal kick.

As the players went down the tunnel at half time, Jean-Kevin Augustin, who was watching the game from the sidelines with Benjamin Mendy must have been wondering what he was getting himself in for!

Although there were no changes at half time, a rampant, and mostly unplayable Leeds team emerged from the tunnel for the second period.

The Whites laid siege on their South London counterparts to such a degree that Winston Churchill would have been proud, and were duly rewarded within three minutes of the second period when Bamford blasted home from close range following a corner.

Field Marshall Hernandez then half volloyed Leeds level with thirty minutes remaining.

Four minutes later Bamford put Leeds ahead. Aylings pin pointed cross was met with a diving header that Tom Bradshaw would have been proud of as the Lions were running for cover.

Leeds missed guilt edged opportunities to stretch their lead further, but more importantly Bielsa's men returned to the top of the table as West Brom were beaten at Cardiff City 2-1.

Leeds have a four point cushion between themselves and third placed Nottingham Forest who beat Brentford away from home last night.

    Bielsa's post match press conference

Angus Kinnear - Radrizzani subsidises 1m towards salaries each month as wage bill doubles

Last nights Programme notes from Chief Executive Angus Kinnear says owner Andrea Radrizzani continues to write a cheque out for a £1m per month to subsidise a wage bill which he says has doubled under this regime.

Does anybody else think that is something to be proud of?

I recall when Dallas, Cooper, Ayling and Klich were all rewarded long term extensions and improved contracts meaning on average they will be earning over £80,000 a month each.

This was done before Christmas! Why wouldn't the hierarchy wait until the end of the season.

If the worst happens Leeds will have to rebuild without Bielsa. Apart from Klich, none of these players were pulling up any trees before Bielsa joined.

It emerged yesterday that Luke Freeman earns £10,000 a week at Sheffield Utd. Would you say that Bamford is four times better than the former QPR hitman?

Great win last night. Its a cliche, but it certainly was a game of two halves. Minutes in I thought wtf they doing, Millwalls going to score, and they did. From a really poorly defended goal. They didn't get going at all in that first few minutes. Shocking!

Referee wise, that blatant corner that he gave as a free kick was totally unacceptable.

As Milkyboy said on the match day thread, 'only Leeds could be 2 down in a game we’re dominating'.. THIS!

Plus points for me, Bamford scored 2 and Pablo had a great game. Lets hope now this is the form changer and this is a start of a winning run of games that will ultimately bring us promotion. I have everything crossed!

Wigan next at home. This has to be a 3 pointer! Come on Leeds!

Morning all. Great result and second half performance. Our first goal was crucial and came at a terrific time, real swing in momentum. Big plus too was wba losing again. They look like a club with real problems and must be having doubts if they'll make the autos at all. Looks like its gonna be a roller coaster job from here till the end. Regarding pl earnings, I mentioned it yesterday but West Ham lost 12.8 m in their last set of accounts despite 60k home attendances. Anyone thinking promotion is a total cash cow, beware

I only got home to watch the last 35 minutes. Not sure I have seen a more fluent, more dominant, more rousing team performance in a long time. Should have been 6 or 7 for Leeds. Their keeper must have been MOM for those guys.

Having No Phillips seemed to give the team more going forward, might not be a bad thing against Wigan. However think we will miss him for the Forrest game.

Win on Saturday and 3/4 Points against Forrest/Brentford will see us still clear. Add some momentum and the new talent clicking and we could jump ahead and be clear.

    Morning all...

Great comeback, I just hope it has given the players some belief, it’s all about who holds their bottle now and why a team always come crashing into the top 6 as they feel they have nothing to lose

Good morning all & what a great win, in the end
Well i must have put a stone on with all this humble pie i have had to eat lately, i admit to be totally pi**ed off when i started watching the stream as already one down, then before i knew it bam a peno and now two down,i couldn't believe what i was watching, furious would have been an understatement !!!,i was really having to watch my language as other family members were around :emoticon-0183-swear :emoticon-0127-lipss. One consulation though was whatever language i was thinking must have been nothing to what Bielsa ranted at the team in the half time break,i just hope it was in his Argentine/Spanish, but looks as though the players got his drift, as a totally different team in the second half, and they played some of the most sublime football i have seen. As most of you have been saying i'm just hoping that win was the springboard we need,as we have particularly tough games coming up including Forrest & Brentford, Four points from those two games and you would think we could be home & dry.
    nb
The one change i personally would make is Messlier in for Kiko, although he did make a couple of great catches from dangerous corners at the end, which took the pressure off, i just wish he could stop incoming shots :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Why did certain players receive high salary increases if we couldn't sustain those rises

Let face it those players failed last season, why prematurely reward failure?

Personally I don't like it when our centre forward feels the best way to react after scoring the winning goal is to cover his ears.

Something is wrong and it's not the support he receives in the stadium which has always been extremely positive.

This forum is probably a fair barometer for how supporters are reacting on other sites and social media etc. It doesn't make for pretty reading when (I paraphrase a little here) the general consensus last night at HT was that roughly half of the team needed substituting and the coach is a useless one trick pony. This about a club and team that now sits 2 points clear at the top of the division.

Those who judge so harshly are bringing nothing to the party...in fact the opposite as they are a hinderance to the promotion push.

Think about it again for a second...after an amazing comeback and scoring the winning goal Patrick Bamford's first thought is to you and your ridiculously disparaging and scathing comments.

I have it on good authority that all Bielsa said to the team at half time was “Just look at the comments on not606” enough said

Well let's put it like this then...

If posters are going to continually denigrate my/our team when we are going all out for promotion then I'm going to come down as hard as a f***ing tonne of bricks on every man jack one of you until you STFU and support the team.

All you have to do is look at the match day thread, and see how much abuse there were before we scored the first the then look after! Then even better after we equalised.

    'Human football fan nature'
There will always been doom and gloom Leeds fans, as we have been shat on for quite some time now by our club. I said to the wife for instance last night when we went 2 nil down... 'F&*King Leeds are sh1te.. They're 2 nil down and couldn't score in a brothel, I'm not watching this sh1t' - Then I turned off the game at half time, watched something on Netflix, and 10 mins in, they scored the 1st goal, so I switched the game back on with my fingers crossed for an equaliser. When we went ahead, I think everyone in my street heard me scream 'YEEEESSSSS'! Trouble is red button delay is way behind 'live' so I got the notification on my phone about 1 minute before we scored.. Still went mental though! HA!

    Nothing wrong with that.

You had a good grumble to your wife and couldn't bear to watch further. That's what supporters have always done whether down the pub or at home it's all hot air which disappears into the ether. However it now goes down in writing, influencing and building up a negative energy across many different platforms.

I don't understand how supporters can not differentiate.

I seem to remember you were in the process of winding yourself up about the lack of progress on the transfer front a couple of weeks ago
If I think the team is playing rubbish I will say so I don’t see anything wrong with that
I got wound up during the first half and the sh—- ref didn’t help any or the fxxxing linesman for that matter
But all’s well that ends well eh

    That's 100% correct.

As we had lost 2 loan players the upper echelons of the club needed to step up to the plate...no excuses.

    They did and have.

Reminding the owner of his responsiblities is completely different to criticising the players who have to go out each week and perform. When the players are enduring a run of poor results they need our support even more and that was fully forthcoming from myself.
