Snods plays right cos he hasnt got the pace to beat his man on the outside and get a cross in with his left. On the right he just needs to cut in and give himself a yard to get the cross in. Pretty fed up of carrying passengers to be honest who can only play in one position, and it always seems to be same 'glory' one, just behind the front two, and I`m basically having a go at Howson and Nunez, and SG for that matter. Why persist with them on the pitch if they do nothing? We def dont want to unsettle Ross and Becc up front, who will get us a lot of goals together. Absolute sacrilege to move Ross wide, he is classiest striker we have had in a long time. Howson was appalling on Tues, completely outshone by Clayton. Plenty have said for ages he cant play in a 442 and this proves it. The Finnish lad and Clayton could well do something in the middle. Looking forward to Pugh coming, he and White will be effective down the left, and would also like to see Sam wide right as Snod not on his game at all.
Howson has been playing the holding midfield position in the 4-4-2, whereas Clayton has been allowed to get forward more. Obviously that's going to mean he won't stand out as much. It's more tactics than the player.
The problem is, Howson isnt very effective as a holding midfielder. Does ok with 5 in the middle though
As above, Howson can`t play that role. If holding means standing 5 yards off your player whilst they pass it around you then he is very good at that. Don`t get me wrong, I think he is excellent further forward, but the current makeup of the team doesn`t allow that and its the sum that matters not the individual parts, so he needs to be dropped if 442 is how we are going to do ti.
Poyet was happy to go along with the fixtures as they need the revenue from the tv. So be it on their own heads!

He looked ****ed after 15 minutes on Tuesday night. Headless chickens spring to mind! As captain he needs to communicate with the defence and other midfielders instead of chasing the ball like a loon.

Problem then is, we've got Ross scoring goals, who can only play with another striker. If we play 5 in the middle then he loses out as we've only one striker who can play on his own.
