Southall is without doubt a bullsh1tter, not very trustworthy. Doesn't mean he's lying about the ownership though. He's not the type to admit it when he's out of his depth, as he is now. He'd rather BS. So no wonder there are doubts about the people he represents. Weighing it up though, I expect ESI to turn out to be pukka, they will hopefully put someone better than Southall in situ before too long.
Not sure that they even have that tbh. The 7 debentures were supposed to stop that happening. I know Southall has said that all 7 of the denenture holders have.been consulted, but I know for a fact that at least one of them has had no contact from the new mob whatsoever!!
I think MS has underestimated exactly how things work in South London. Within minutes of him saying they had all been consulted, phones were ringing. Led to believe that ALL 7 of them are lifelong Addicts - isn't one of them R Murray (the saviour of Charlton and the fans choice)
Where has this "99 year lease" story come from? Was it mentioned in the Q&A session? Or has somebody just made it up. I've not seen talk of a lease anywhere else. And I would have expected a much bigger reaction from fans to such news. Must admit I haven't bothered to go through the details of that session. I don't even know if the information is easily available. Is there a transcript somewhere, and if so is it a full one or just edited highlights? Or is there a video or audio track? Got my mind mostly on other things at the moment, I don't really want to spend hours trying to pick bits out of what was said a few evenings ago. The players we sign between now and Friday will tell us what we need to know about how honest the new owners have been with us so far. If we've been lied to, I'm not going to blame that 100% on Matt Southall either - unless ESI distances itself from what he has said so far and replaces him with somebody else. Until that happens, Southall speaks for ESI. They collectively take the credit or the blame at 11pm on Friday. PS: I know this is a bit off-topic for the Barnsley match thread. We have bigger fish to fry. Relegation must be a 50/50 possibility...and nobody wants that ...including ESI ?
Can only see us getting a draw Saturday, can see Chaplin and Woodrow causing our defence all sorts of problems. Won't really matter come the end of the season though we'll still stay up.
I was going to this game, but I won't be now. Some news (non-football related) came to me yesterday which means I probably won't be going again. Ho hum. C'est la vie. I hope Bowyer gets some players in to help him avoid relegation. He and the fans deserve better.
