I understand this point but regarding Adams, it's not like they have given him a run in the team or play the same system as Birmingham which kind of played to his strengths. It's common for players to have poor records at one club but excel at others. It's about the system the club plays. It's why West Ham are struggling. They bought a load of smooth skillful neat and tidy players for Pellegrini and then sacked him off and replaced him with Moyes who likes a team of grafters. It doesn't work out.

Brings me to my next point. The French kid. Looks like a lot of his goals are scored from the counter attack and breaking at speed. Will he really suit our possession based game? We made that mistake with Nketiah. Great player but didn't shine in our system. At first glance this kid looks the same.

Adams is overpriced but we seem to have switched from a strong lad who holds his own up top flying solo to a speedster to smash teams on the break.

That's my reading on it although I am easily confused.

hard to tell from a few YouTube clips but first glance that’s what it looks like. Adams holds the ball up well and scored goals last year in an average team in this division... that’s why he looks less of a risk. Having said that, never really rated Adams the few times I’ve seen him and 20m seemed crazy money for a 1 season wonder!

With Adams and Gray, we were offering £5m loan and if we get promoted we’ll buy them for £20m... Well they might have been useless and we still get promoted then we have to buy them and have a chunk of our promotion money spent. Let’s be honest, Costa isn’t going to be good enough as things stand so that’s already £15m gone.

Andre Gray is 29 in June, he is never going to be a quality PL player, Che Adams is a forward or midfielder, he hasn’t scored in 18 games, we need an out and out goal scorer. Bamford won’t immediately be dropped, someone will have to grab their chance off the subs bench, they’ll be brought on and have to be a game changer.

The French guy is loan with “option” to buy, yes he looks like another Nketiah in many ways but realistically that’s what we need, someone to come off the bench and grab their chance, we’re not going to find a goal scoring version of Bamford

Augustin has been liking Tweets sent to him by Leeds fans welcoming him to the club and asking if he is joining, okay not a clear sign he is on his way but promising all the same

Yep, I understand the money situation. I am just confused by the change in direction by Bielsa or Orta or a combination of the two. If we were going for Adams who imo has shown he is a better Championship striker than Bamford who excelled at playing up front on his own, then why change and go for a pacey type like Nketiah all of a sudden?

I'm kinda banking on the coaching staff seeing something else in the guy that's not shown in the clips. He looks like a different kind of striker than Gray or Adams. Have we ran out of options and anyone will do now?

It's what my uneducated mind sees in this speculation.

I'm just hoping we get it right! I wonder if Bielsa will walk if he doesn't get what he wants? He must be truly pissed off.

He’s also been left out of Monaco’s match day squad for the first time this season for their game tonight.

Apparently they play a high energy pressing game so he could be good to go on Tuesday if we get it sorted in time.

If any of you have a Twitter account have a look at the official Poveda account, he’s really keen to impress and looks happy to be at Leeds, he is all over Twitter in a very positive way. Could be a favourite, his name ends in a vowel too ;)

Augustin played for hassenhutl at Leipzig, hassenhutl is a fan apparently and has been linked with him the last two windows.

sooo... what are the odds on augustin going to Southampton at the last minute and Adams coming after all <laugh><laugh>

or maybe hassenhutl thinks Adams is better!

Just thought I would stick my oar in
I don’t mind a loan with option to buy but don’t like a loan with commitment to buy

    Patrick bamford
    Liam Cooper

Agreed. Augustin would be loan/option to buy.

I don't like the loan with no option to buy - like Ben White :headbang:

agree I like loan with option but these loans with commitment are actually no different to purchase and should be seen as such... just a tool to structure payments and accounts
