My question to Matt Southall tonight - “23 days into the crucial January transfer window, and you haven’t bought Charlton a new player yet. Why ?”
I got arrested outside the Hare and Billet many years ago after a Charlton match, and fined £2 at Greenwich Court. The charge sheet said "Drunk outside the Hare and Billet".
He'll probably get asked something along these lines and will woffle along the lines I described, but if he woffles about the ownership it will bode badly.
It was 4 days after I stopped smoking, and I got lippy, a small price to pay for what I've saved on the weed.

My dough says Southall done a seriouslyridiculous and spouted nonsense and did not answer too many questions.
If he uses the line "can still make the playoffs".it will explain why he is no longer an agent and he should be the first person the Arab doctors look at!!!
So far............ ESI own The Valley, and the meeting was cut short at 8 as there was a meeting with an agent that could not be put on hold due to risking the sale going through
I'm not going to take any shots at Matt Southall, but if it is true that the Charlton fans' representatives who are being invited to meet with him are exactly the same ones who have been doing the same thing for many years now, that is disappointing. Is it that nobody else from Charlton's decent sized fan base really wants to come forward and ask questions? Or are there people who want to, but they are just being ignored / sidelined by an established network of fans groups who keep this kind of thing within their own ranks. If the latter is the case it is not a direct failing on the part of Matt Southall or ESI, who are complete newcomers. But it would be to their credit if they would genuinely try to engage with Charlton supporters in a wider way, rather than just connecting with the 'easiest option' established groups. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If anybody thinks that ESI are actually speaking to the usual suspects deliberately, and not really wanting to engage with a wider range of supporters, I'd like to see evidence of that, rather than just accept it on the basis of hearsay. I don't want to start assuming that the new owners are behaving in a disreputable way and require evidence that they are not, rather than keep trusting their good intentions and asking for evidence to the contrary when negative stories or rumours appear.
ESI would not have a clue on who to speak to, perhap there is a clique. On a very serious level, for a change, Charlton Life, ITTV and us should have been invited. That would have probably meant a few more probing questions.
As I said, in my view it would be to ESI and Matt Southall's credit if they made a little effort to reach out beyond the conventional, established lines of communication with the fans' representatives who seem to speak for us pretty much all the time. A letter sent to every season ticket holder perhaps, inviting them to reply with questions? I recognise that process would take time to work through - we could not expect thousands of responses to be read and answered quickly. But some sort of FAQ section could be added to the CAFC website if time was taken to look at responses from fans. Direct responses if you will - unfiltered by supporter's groups.
What a surprise. The Southall meeting has become a willy waving contest on CL dominated by Hayes & Everitt. Even the Millwall fella has tried to squeeze in as well.
It seems like a lot of flannel was spouted last night to dress up the fact that we still DO NOT own The Valley, Dushitelet STILL has a financial interest in us.
