Will be happy with 2 or 3 points but 4 or 6 would be nice … wow .....just seen a moth on my cctv .. there are only 4 moth's to my knowledge that are active in temperatures below freezing that must be one of the bigger ones .. about 2 -3 cms across maybe a good luck charm!
It’s both, when we lose, we tend to lose by 2,3 or more, yet aside from the odd result, our wins have been by 1 or 2 goals. For me Fammy still needs too many chances to get a goal, which is not good enough for our main striker, I think I read on the BBC text for yesterday’s game that he missed 4 chances from inside the box.
He was my mom , all strikers at times miss chances , he’s been our standout player recently, when everyone else’s form has dipped recently he’s the only one who has played consistently well.
One of the misses was a header in the first half. It looked a easy miss but I somehow watched his body movement going for the ball. The ball wasn’t as straight as it looked and he had to try and adjust his body mid flight. Not defending all his misses but sometimes just because he manages to get to ball does not necessary mean it was an easy miss. The other one towards the south stand looked odds on, but watch the defender who goes sliding in meaning he had to go high, just too high. One thing I have also noticed is his touches, he seems to have got a deft touch for Christmas as something has clicked since then. My gripe has always been him and Weinman are too far apart. When we played Luton Watkins played a lot closer to Diedhiou and we looked so much better up front. I like Weinman’s commitment to run all day, and his return ain’t to bad but I do wonder if we are looking at the wrong scape goat in our forwards.
Yes and that’s pleasing - but the reason we are 8th and not 6th is our GD overall is poor. We have beaten 2 of the bottom 3 clubs - which is good - but QPR and Reading wouldn’t miss the chances that Barnsley (or we) had.
I thought Fammy worked hard yesterday and played really well, in every position except Goalkeeper and Striker! Everywhere else he was effective - particularly in defence with his head.
Just what we need from our central striker....... I do like Fammy, and I know I appear negative towards him, but that is only because he will not score the goals we need to get us promoted. I said it last season and I said it this season, and so it's proving. He needs help, or he needs replacing, simple as. He has had multiple strike partners and played in multiple formations to get the best out of him, and yet we haven't. Or, maybe we have got the best out of him and he has no more to give, either way, we need more, and soon!
I like Fammy too - and I wasn’t being sarcastic in my post above - I really thought he contributed significantly to our win yesterday - just not in front of the opposition goal!!!!
This is all part of what happened .. had the first gone in he may have got a hattrick or we could have lost … we only see what happened not what could have happened a boy goes out on the ice 2 results he has fun skates around and goes home for his dinner we see the whole picture. he goes on the ice has a skate around but the ice is to thin and cracks …. what happens next?
To be fair, Pearson was quoted last week as saying that he wasn't particularly bothered about the FA Cup replay as Premiership survival is at the top of Watfords agenda.
The only thing he’s lacking at present is goals, if he could get one more will come as he would relax a bit , in front of goal at present he’s trying too hard, hopefully it’ll come .
mmm This thread seems to become very quiet, abandoned one would say.......for now anyway....I await our next defeat for it to be active again!!
imagine just another 8 pts and we have avoided relegation for certain.. however a tentative run through the bottom 6 teams it could be as low 49pts to survive so a couple more draws should do it
No idea, but I do take his point. Whilst an FA Cup run is nice, the cost and other implications (best players leaving, lower attendances/revenue) of falling out of the Premiership are both vast.
