Some very nice comments from a former legend! http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/sport/sunderland_boss_relishing_return_to_norwich_city_1_1068055?
Yes Dave, he was a legend, especially after THAT semi final 2nd leg, but he did spoil his copybook in my eyes when he left, or rather just before he left. I believe he said he was ready to go on strike in order to get his move to Man ure. This action did undo a lot of the good things he did for us.
If I remember correctly JWM, it was a tad later. We lost a few players around that time. Woods, Bruce, Phelan, and I think Watson went not long after that either. Think they all left within a year or so.
Always been a great fan of Steve Bruce, he gave his all as a player and would shed blood for the cause if necessary, and he´s not been too shabby as a manager either, he should get a warm welcome back. Warmer still, if we can win.
I remember it like it was yesterday - it was the first game I ever went to. Dixie's goal was my first experience of a football crowd roar and when Brucie got the winner my ears nearly exploded!
You would think he would have his hooter fixed now?............I can never tell which way his face is pointing
