Come on people. A bit of banter between fans is what its all about. As long as it doesnt get into personal insults then its all good.

It's is funamentally wrong that this thread was written as HIAG has pointed out, we have to read some absolute sh ite on here about MRs C this and "Nufink" and "sumthink" that spoiling half the threads but no one bats an eye or bothers the individuals involved, :police: HIAG is a genuine contributor to the forum and the vast majority of sane reasonable posters on here can see that and are happy for him to continue to do so.

We need outside opinions, not just Arsene we trust/rust contributions.

Most of the time it's the same people spouting the same crap everyday. Very rarely do football forums actually reflect the feeling of the masses. It's just a few individuals who have found an outlet to spout their views (nothing wrong with that) If you go against the grain on here or any other football forum you tend to be labelled plastic, wum, or some other lame insult because your view does not fall in line with the self important posters.

Football is really annoying me for various reasons.

1 over reliance on success being linked to major spending.

    2 ref corruption

3 the big red institution from the north east

4 negative fans/ over optomistic fans

    5 sky sports

6 Player loyalty is now linked to wages more than ever.

    Spot on with 1 & 6
Not sure where you get 2 from though
    3 ? NE or NW ?
4 this will always be the case - I remember being an enthusiastic fan in the 80s, now I'm a realist
5 Can't fault Sky (apart from the cost) they've transformed how we view football even if their money has created chaos

100% correct on going against the grain gets you called a wum, a plastic or just an undercover fan for another club <doh>

1 = yes - I feel like football is less and less of a sport everyday. It feels like a business where the big clubs just squash the smaller ones.
    6= yes
2 = yes, esp in europe. Look at barca games and see why. Apparently falling over = insta free kick for barca. They are cheats and the refs are obv paid
3 = See the BBC now loving over fergie cos he is finally talking to him. They laugh with him and try not to upset him. Makes me vomit
    4 = meh thats life

The OP is an idiot ! There is nothing wrong with Hoddle Is God, even if he is a WUM he is very clever with it and he at least argues well and puts across very valid points.

I have no problem with him at all, he is welcome on our board in my opinion.

    Mods need to lighten up?
I think you'll find we let most things flow on this board.
    What's the problem?

  13. I think you rather chose to ingnore the rest of his statement which reads thus -

The posting member made the above comment which you deliberately chose to ignore in the quote which you took. One can only assume for obvious reasons.

  14. I believe it doesn't apply to you in respect of the matter under discussion Piskie.

However as K3 pointed out ...
There is abuse and name-calling on this board from sources one hardly expects that should be serving the cause of this board. Banter is one thing but deliberate name-calling and abuse is quite something else and as K3 suggested, is directed even at our own fans. Debate a point if one chooses to disagree but abuse should have no place on our forum as I'm sure you'll agree.

I think most of us think it's a load of old rubbish mate but the point I was making is that I nor others are losing any sleep over other people acting the tit.

I will take the second part of that as a wind up as your a silly little twat

  16. Personally I think that HIAG is fine. I do think he is on the wind up, in a subtle way, but thats ok. As long as he doesnt think that we are fooled, and the banter doesnt turn to insults.

I find his views somewhat typical of a Spurs fan - leaping to a conclusion that all of a sudden they are on a par with Arsenal after we have a few bad games. They are not. The noise is driven by years of hurt and desperation to be as good or better than Arsenal. Its a hope, not a reality. Spurs have been dominated by Arsenal for a decade and a half. Its frankly like comparing Man Utd to Man City and saying they are equals. If City, or Spurs, actually achieve some level of parity over the next few years then his points will be valid. Till then its just the same old 'power shift' rubbish that we have heard for years. If we get a new stadium, if we finish above you...

The same Spurs fans bleating last year about how Fabregas was not a patch on Van Der Vaart, and Nasri couldnt compare to Bale, are now saying we are in crisis because they are not here, and how great those two players were. Last year apparently they had a better squad than Arsenal, but even with a collapse from the CC final, they still couldnt finish above us.

If Spurs finish above Arsenal this year (they will not in my view), they still cannot claim to be better. We have so comprehensively outperformed them for so long that it will take a consistent period of time to banish the inferiority complex. If Arsenal finished above Utd this year, could we say we have overtaken them as a club? No.

What HIAG is doing is hoping and praying. There can be no convinction - unless its deluded. For that reason I find it mildly amusing rather than annoying.

  17. Incidentally, and probably as most of you have gathered, I stand very firmly in the "In Arsene We Trust" camp.

HIAG and I have exchanged some words in the past but the lad is harmless. Yes, we had some disagreements but now I find myself actually agreeing with SOME of the things he said. Why is it that we get offended in these circumstances? It's not like we expect everyone to like the Clubs we support.
