Will be in next weeks SLP - only a few days away - Jackson will sign it "once Bowyer's has been sorted!"
Winning 1 game in 16 means that going into every game I do not expect us to win. However, it will be fantastic if we were to get anything out of tonight to build us up nicely for Barnsley next week. A minimum of 6 points in February against Barnsley, Stoke, Luton and Huddersfield would be a good return, although this is not something I'd put too much money on.
Another gimmick from ESI. “a takeover ticket deal” 5 games for the price of 4. This is back of the *** packet stuff. Sign some players and the people will come....
ESI can't do anything right can they. When do we start to hear fans saying things were better under Roland? At the rate we're going, about this time next week. If we lose tonight, no doubt the knives will be stuck in Matt Southall for not waving a magic wand and instantly fixing everything. Never mind the Belgian, whose pittance budget created our problems in the first place. He's off the hook now that fans have got a new hate-figure to kick. #nogooddeedgoesunpunished
You’ve made quite a leap their @lardiman Nobody is yet remotely comparing ESI to Duchatelet. Fans are just saying that ESI have had a very poor January so far. It’s undeniable?
Like I said, give it a week. We're already shooting down every initiative or idea ESI come up with. After all, Roland wouldn't have insulted ST holders with a gimmick like this would he. There was an owner who respected fans (Only joshing really. I'm in a contrary mood today - that's so unlike me!. Must be nerves before the Fulham game).
It's actually been a very long time since our club was well run, long before Douchatelet. We had the Spivs, whose money was drying up, and a pretty demoralised club, if you remember the mood under pardew then Parky. It really is the hope that kills you.
Southall needs to take his agent's hat off now. At the moment it's looking like we couldn't run a bath.
I am happy that they are having these initiatives. But I will continue with the House analogies that are so beloved of CL. You can't build a house without the foundations, which is the team. We are currently not good enough to stay up. We have been crying out for some new blood to give us some new life. This, so far has not happened. Southall is an ex agent he knows what players are earning in the Championship. Yet he seems surprised at what Clubs and players are asking. We will hopefully get some players back to give us a lift, but the easiest way to get bums on seats is to win some more games.
I'm desperately hoping Cullen plays a part in tonight's game, not only that but he proves his fitness at the same time, and so is able to start our next game. He's been our biggest loss, for his energy, consistency and intelligent play. As a carrot to dangle in front of him he should be offered the captaincy if he signs up. This would justify breaking the wage structure. Pure guesswork, but losing him in midfield may have contributed to us losing Gallagher, who wasn't as effective offensively without Cullen, he was too busy doing the dirty work.
This is the real grind part of the season. The football equivalent of running right round the Isle of Dogs during a1980's London Marathon - before they built Canary Wharf. That was one hell of a slog. But a lot of teams are in a similar state to us, one way or another. We have to hold our nerve and stick to the task.
I do love a game under the floodlights at the Valley. Having a nice Chinese & a couple of beers in London with my son...then three lovely points off Spotty Parker & Co Come on my Beautiful Valiants
