For some reason I thought you were talking about Bradley Wright Phillips Would be unlucky for him if true
Maybe Euell can cover the midfield substitution for the time being, thus allowing Yann Kermit to enter the fray. That would be terrible luck for the lad, if confirmed.
Start of a midfield crisis? Alonso isn't 100%, Hollands was told he won't be rushed after having triplets and now Pritchard breaks his legs. Don't walk under any ladders this week Stephens!
That works for me, Crack. I am never too keen on JJ playing wide, but he has a knack for scoring goals which paradoxically justifies his place in the side. Nice little dilemmas to have, methinks.
I had thought the same thing CA, in fact I've been thinking similar for weeks. I'd actually rather the following was our general starting 11 though: Hamer Solly-Taylor-Morrison-JJ Green-Stephens-Hollands-Wagstaff Hayes-BWP I know many don't fancy JJ at LB (plus it limits his goal-threat) but Wiggins has been appalling so far this season, and Waggy and Green are both far too important to not be playing.
Has Wiggins been appalling? I think he's been ok, not spectacular but not awful. I'd like him to continue, help settle that back 4. That said- we also have Evina who can play left wing!
To be honest Super I've seen him do very little to impress me, he seems poor in the air, can't seem to tackle, always tries to take on one too many players when going forward, his crosses rarely reach their target and he always boots the ball into the stands when under very little pressure. I'd honestly rather have Evina playing at LB, he's seemed decent in both League Cup games.
JJ's crossing is a real attribute to, I am happy with him out wide. I think Evina is a better player than Wiggins, but Wiggins is in the side at the moment so he will have to wait for his chance. I suspect that Hollands will be fine to play. I don't know how many hours a week pro footballers do but there must be enough time to it in enough sleep and rest
Too true, Robbie. Especially if we are going to be a bit light in midfield. I don't mind picking him up and dropping him home after.
From some of the substitutions, does CP see Hughes as an emergency defensive midfield cover as well? Euell can certainly fill in in midfield, indeed his first spell at Charlton saw him playing deeper and deeper, and after leaving us he's tended to play in midfield.
No no no no no no no... JJ can not play left back...!! I'd happily go with CA's midfield of Green-JJ-Stephens-Waggy. I can't see the sense in upsetting the continuity of the defence by dropping Wiggins out for a Midfielder who is a pony left back.
Agree about the back 4. Hardest part on the pitch to forge partnerships- may well be that Wiggins just needs that bit more time to settle in. Hasn't done anything costly enough to be dropped IMO.
I agree with your assessment of Wiggins to date. Whilst he hasn't exactly set the world alight I don't feel he's been culpable for any real clangers as of yet. The continuity of the back four is and always will be for me the most important department on the pitch. The back four are the solid foundations from which the midfield and forwards can build from. Get the back four solid, organised and with a good understanding of one anotherâs game and the rest will fall nicely into placeâ¦
This is terrible news for a good lad. Hope he recovers quickly and gets another chance as it could be very hard for him to break back in at this rate. As for Hollands, I expect he'll play, he's still a footballer and the games are where he wants to be, maybe he's getting some preferential treatment on the training pitch. Wiggins, hasn't been awful by any stretch. He's improved with every week, his delivery has been good. His covering has been solid and he hasn't been the blame for anything major. I do however agree that Evina looks the long term starter maybe, but it's that pressure that's keeping Wiggins running. No harm done.
I agree with Hell-Bent not sure why Wiggins is being "dropped" by some of the posters Evina looked good going forward but not great defensively Whatever happened to not changing a winning team .. last time I looked Pritchard was a sub so therefore no need to change the starting XI unless Green is fit enough to replace Wagstaff
