What the heck happened with Salah's goal? No ManU players anywhere near him but he wasn't offside.. can't work it out from the replays.

He was in his own half when the ball was kicked.

Man U have been charged with failure to control their players in the Liverpool game.

I honestly think that football would benefit hugely from the 10 metre rule that rugby employs. Any dissent, the kick moves 10 metres up the pitch. If that means a free kick becomes a penalty, so be it. Players would soon learn.

100% agree. That would be immensely satisfying to do. :)

Went to the recording of The Guardian podcast, Football Weekly last night. Max Rushden, Elis James, Barry Glendenning etc. Lots of fun. Glendenning was off to interview Tiss this morning too, so we had some half decent MLT chat too.

Ref's need to start standing up to the players and booking them or sending them off. Sick of players reffing the game themselves.

Didn't they try something like that a few years back. Was soon dropped.

The thing is, the ref is the one person has to power to stop it anyway. Rule change won't mean anything if the refs don't enforce it.

It's an area I have little sympathy for refs in - He should have booked the lot of them imo. As it is they've got away with it as per usual.

I had a terrifying thought though.

There will be people on this forum now, who weren’t alive when MLT was playing :emoticon-0104-surpr

A team of cloggers and LeTiss, and we defied logic so many times. Such good fun.

I can remember the goal against Arsenal at the Dell and my first ever game was against Wimbledon and he scored, can't remember how old I was or when it was, but if I had to guess I'd say about 5.

I think I was about 11/12 when he retired so don't really have too many memories of him

Yes, in the 2000-01 season. It was successful, except that moving the kick, say, to the edge of the area wasn’t necessarily an advantage. If the attacking team had the option of taking the kick anywhere in the 10 metres it would have worked much better.

    Blimey, young’un.
I am old enough to remember a customer of mine who used to watch the Saints youth (as well as having a season ticket) and he was always telling me that although Alan Shearer was being cited as the best young player we had, in the youth set up, there was another who was better - Matt LeTiss.
I guess everyone will have their own view on who became the best, but in terms of being the player who pretty much stopped us from being relegated single handedly, Matt gets my vote.
I feel honoured to have watched him from start to finish.

That new contract for Potter, just months after signing the first one, continues to go really well.

Schar for Joelinton arguably isn't a defensive change by Newcastle.
