Other wums are up front and honest with their jibes, whereas this one is a snide who attempts to disguise his intent.

I think you people use the term wum out of fear of using other words.

This is an open forum. I could agree if all these people were openly making threads about how much Arsenal suck. However that clearly isn't the case.

As with 606, the mindset of these forums are pathetic, childlike even. If someone disagrees with the rabble then he or her is summing or trolling, regardless of context of post.

If you wanted a board full of yes men, you should of just joined the Arsenal one. (Boom?)

Other Spuds come on here to swap banter & I have no problem with them. It is the smug, smarmy & snide approach that this HIAG takes that I find offensive. Afterall, this is an Arsenal board and why should an Arsenal supporter have to swallow it from a non supporter? Let him go to the graveyard that is the Spud board to do it.

 

I fail to see how Mr H can be considered unworthy of participation on this board. He has participated and contributed on this forum as constructively as many of us. If you follow his debates and trend of thought you will see that on no occasion has he behaved inappropriately. He began first by sympathising with our plight while others took the opportunity to pour scorn on us. He has even come out in support of our manager about whom some of us have been quite scathing. When he does challenge us to consider aspects of our game we should rise to the occasion and indeed debate since this is after all a forum and as far as forum participants go, he is right out of the top drawer. He has been polite in his manner while accepting with good grace, unwarranted derision and name-calling from our own membership, incidentally something he himself has never done. There are those who come over to us from other boards which I shan't name who offer far less in terms of logical, constructive or humorous discussions but who are treated with far more courtesy than he has been shown. If he goes, so do I.

 

FWIW, as Spurs fans go I make Hoddle OK.

You prefer the obvious trolling so you can easily gather support to your cause. However Hoddle isn't out and out regarded as a WUM and thus here the conflict arises. Clearly this thread doesn't agree with you, nor your draconian methods. Ban everyone who doesn't agree? Don't say it's just a team issue because you guys turn on other Arsenal fans as well.

Smug? Perhaps, though I wasn't aware that you couldn't be. He clear believes Spurs will move ahead of Arsenal now and often posts quite in depth about why he feels this. You can disagree with him, but instead you resort to name calling, tool of a child, instead of disputing his points. You act as if you want a board only filled with things you want to hear, or you think is right.

Hey, guys, thanks for your support! It is really appreciated, and nothing less than I would have expected from you. Some of you have posted on the Spurs board and, like me when I'm here, have been exceedingly polite and well-balanced with your views, even when you write things that the rank and file don't want to hear.

The reason why I spend a lot of time over here at the moment is because, quite frankly, the issues surrounding your club are more exciting than those surrounding my own, and the areas of debate are more engaging. Has Wenger lost control? Is the board out of sync with what the fans want? Are your ticket prices too high? Is your defence a hopeless cause, or can Wenger and his team pull things round? Will your new stars bed-down quickly enough to pull you through this season? Will you finish 4th this season? Will you boo Nasri when you play City? etc There are even a couple of links between our clubs, in Gallas and Adebayor.

I really don't mind taking the ribbing I get from some of your fans - that's exactly what I would expect, coming on here, and offering my own frank views - and I certainly will not allow the very small minority to deter me from doing so. I remain hopeful that they will find the courage to debate like men of intelligence, instead of petty-minded schoolboys (and thick ones, at that).

So, once again, a big thank you for your kindness and your support

Hoddle

Our clubs are more similar than you think.
We've both been screwed/about to be screwed by mercinaries so I have every sympathy with the club over Modric who, despite your best intentions and efforts, will be sold to the highest bidder because the player wants the weekly lottery win.
Our targets are the same, 4th and maybe a cup, the big difference is that as a business we're some years ahead because of our move to the Emirates, if/when Spurs finalise their long term plans there'll be very little difference between us financially when should narrow the gap that has existed for a few years now...

How is it that I crave any more attention than any other poster on this site? I simply do not understand your logic.

In fact, I would much rather that people didn't make up a thread about me - I absolutely do NOT want this attention. In fact, I don't think it's fair that anyone should have a post written about them. If a poster is genuinely abusive to fellow users, these should be removed, but that rule should include the creator of this thread, who has been far more abusive to me that I would even contemplate being to anyone else, whether an Arsenal fan or otherwise.

 

Considering the OP has been quite offensive if you want to see it that way, should we just PM?

The OP attempted to dial the aggression up but just ended the one who looks stupid due to nobody rising to her (?) level.
