Not drawing Arsenal. I like to believe that we can outplay Arsenal and show that we don't miss either player...I can believe this for longer if we don't actually play them. This is the same thinking that makes me the only Saints fan who hates playing Pompey!
Liverpool at Anfield or down here, thankyou very much. That's what Nigel said anyway (he always says that though).
Living in London I'd definitely be keen for a trip to the emirates, it's a fantastic stadium. Or the short bus ride to stamford bridge would also be welcome!
Aldershot at St Mary's because I want to progress. If not, Liverpool for Adkins' sake..he's earnt it. Incidently, my greatest fear in the dark hours before dawn is that Liverpool come in for Adkins.
Have put Stoke in the predictions game. Would be a difficult game because they are in the PL but no great romance to it. Not sure it would be a crowd-puller. Don't know why I put it because it's almost the worse draw we could get! Won't change it now though, because that would increase the chance of it happening.
I want to progress in this Cup, but don't you think it would be interesting to see how we would get on at home against Prem opposition, as a measure of how far we've come since the Man U game? I reckon that the team that did so well against them, with one or two additions and the benefit of a whole year of Nigel's management, would go one better. Maybe save Liverpool for the final, but let's see how Arsenal, Newcastle, or Tottenham fare at St. Mary's first.
Admittedly, a good side (which we are) can catch out PL teams, but after the ManU and Blackpool games last year they wouldn't take us lightly.
I agree I dont think it will happen soon, but say in 18 months I can see NA heading to Anfield to take over from Kenny. Still I think thats the paranoid Saints fan coming out in me that when something is so good we must predict its downfall.
