Which squads are better than ours?

As good as Bolton and Villa.

West Ham
West Brom

I just want to get your opinions. The reason for this is because i saw alot of predictions for our home game vs Bolton, and people were expecting us to lose? Bolton are not better than us, they went on a spree at the start of the season. Imagine if we had held out vs Sun'lun and Spurs, and gotten the 4 extra points. We'd be a point behind sun'lun in 7th with a game in hand, and that was without Carroll and Tiote.

Thoughts?

Team spirit, manager, owners, and injuries play a major part though.

We currently have excellent Team Spirit.

Still not 100% on the manager, he hasn't really been tested yet.

Our owners are a disaster.

And we *always* have more injuries than most teams.

 

0-4 at half time to arguably the best team in the league, to come back and draw 4-4.
Drawing away to Smackems (7th) despite injury's/suspensions to important players.
Drawing at home to Spurs (5th) despite injurys/suspensions.

I'll call these games tests.

 

Pardew has done well so far, especially since he's only been working with the team for just over two months

 

Think you're about right Tash (though place us POSSIBLY a little too high).

Let's face it lads, our strikeforce is our main problem. Yeah, we scored 4 goals against L'Arse, but 2 of those were penalties and 1 was a once in a lifetime dream finish!

Our team definitely has goals in it, especially from set pieces, but I still worry. Our fit stikers have what, 20 prem starts between them?

On the Pardew front, few can argue with what he's achieved so far, but much like Chris Hughton, he wasn't FULLY embraced until he came through a bad patch and set us right again. Pardew should be judged, for better or worse, over the remainder of the season.

I think we've proved twice that we're as good as, if not better than the mackem squad

 

In fairness though mate, the table doesn't lie. We'll see come the end of the year, but at the moment you have to concede that they have a 'better' squad.

In theory i agree with you, if we had a full matchday squad i would have more of our players than theres.

 

So Tash by your reckoning, and I know it ain't a science we could finish at best 9th (unlikely) at worst 12th (also unlikely in my opinion but I would take it now. 12th I mean lol

 

Depend if we're doing this on paper. On paper surely Everton and Villa have better squads
