Currently living in TYRE South Lebanon. One of the oldest cities in the world. Beautiful sandy beaches and area full of old roman and byzantine ruins. People are very very friendly and the only "pub" in the city has cold beer and some arabic sports channel that shows Prem football almost 24hrs a day. Forget the bullets, roadside bombs and occasional war and this place is a real paradise.

errrrr. I´m in Madrid - wouldn´t say it was exotic but I have found myself in less salubrious places!!! - for a relaxed, good humoured, ´talent-full´ night out there are not many places better than here!!!
    un saludo!

My dad lived in Beirut for short time in 1930 and said what a beautiful place it was at that time, it was described as the Riviera of the East. I've known a few Lebanese people and always found them to be really friendly hospitable people, such a shame their country was torn apart by conflict.

After Rome, Beirut is the most impressive city i have visited. Its truely magnificent. Its called the Paris of the middle east. The city has been rebuilt so many times that its amazing that the people still have the energy or enthuasism to carry on, knowing that in all probability the city will be damaged again in the future.

You're right, I knew it was something to do with the French! My dad also lived in Paris from 1931-38.

Showing my age but not necessarily my music Dave, but is Mornington peninsula the same as "all bound for Morningtown many miles away" in the Seekers song?

I'll send you a private message on here when I know I am coming. No trips planned at the moment, but would be great to watch an R's game on that giant 2 storey screen in the downtown sports bar (forget it's name) saw some of the Stanley Cup there in June. Other haunts - micro brewery place in the Distillery District and the Irish Embassy.
Man you live in an expensive city.

Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula which is a beautiful seaside town 1 hour south of Melbourne. The way Rangers are heading though i think i would swap it for Peckham to be back watching them live !

SB73, could meet up in Amsterdam for a beer I live a half hour away in the exotic city of Utrecht and it really is a little gem of a place.

Are there any other fans living in the Netherlands out there?
