How am I being defensive? You know I’m not Greta Thunberg, right? I just pointed out that you were mocking a child’s autism. That’s not being defensive. That’s making an observation.
Are you not? Because I didn't really mock her for having it at all. I called it assburgers, a South Park reference. I didn't say it made her dumb, or wrong, or invalid. I said her having it made her more of a media darling, giving her undue attention. But you've decided to take offense like a bitch.
And not just human life. Climate change is already directly affecting entire species all over the planet.
People deny lots of things, it's a fairly common psychological coping mechanism, and there is no definitive proof that climate change is being caused by man.
Animal Life is struggling to keep pace, for many the ability to move or adjust as climate changes is no longer an option . https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2019-08/cu-cic082019.php
I didn't say man wasn't causing climate change, I said you can't prove it, and you can't, the best you can do is hypothesize.
I disagree. You can prove by carbon isotopes that the increase in CO2 levels is driven by burning fossil fuels. You can prove thanks to the work of John Tyndall in the 1860s that CO2 absorbs energy and emits it back in the infra red. You can measure the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. You can measure the increase of temperature in the troposphere due to this absorbtion, amplified by increased moisture evaporation. And finally, most conclusively you can measure the cooling of the stratosphere as less heat escapes the earth and is reflected back into space. What this confirms is that it isn't increased energy from the sun that's causing warming, but the blanket effect of the atmosphere that's preventing heat loss. These are all tested and provable facts that lead to confirmation of our impact. Not hypothesis, actual facts that lead to a single conclusion.
