Aren't you supposed to allow them to dry on a flat surface, then gradually reshape them before fully dry. I know, I know!

You shouldn’t dry clothes inside. Unless you live in a virtually brand new house that has a whole house mechanical ventilation system and vapour barriers in the ceilings of the upper floors. most old houses will have cold spots and cold bridges which will lead to condensation and black mould appearing on the walls. The high humidity from drying clothes with no vapour barriers also gets in your loft condensed and will rot your roof structure and lead to infestations of woodworm. So you either have a tumble dryer or have your heating on full and all your windows open. Either way you’re wasting money.
Which is another reason the fooking things catch fire to. It draws the fabric out the clothes, places it into the vent of the T/D. Customers then don't clean out the vent, which then becomes clogged, before eventually flowing onto the heater element. Hence the recalls
