Might be because they look down on the competition and they see themselves as European giants.

Pretty poor that their fans who all live within spitting distance of the stadium can't be bothered to go and watch their team. As everyone knows the whole of Manchester City supports ****ty yet they can't sell out their ground. Pretty pathetic to be honest.

Ah,thats the price of success, they got 40k in the old 2nd division.

Maybe if they laid free buses from Maine Rd to the council stadium they'd get better gates.

Well it was only a Carling Cup game to be fair but with the players on show you would think at least some of the younger city fans would be excited at the chance to go and see their temporary heroes.

Probably 5,000 to 10,000 of those would be kids who received free tickets via the local schools, something citeh regularly do. Pretty poor attendance when you think that the "mighty" Brighton managed 22,000. However it doesn't matter if they only got 3,000 last night, the fact that Owen Hargreaves ( who they rescued from his red nightmare ) scored the first goal on his first appearance for this massive club, will mean more to the success starved muppets than winning anything, such is their small-minded mentality ! Let the Press/BBC ****fest over Hargreaves begin.

United sell out because they are forced to buy tickets, but don't let that stop you going on and on about City. Pricks

12000 below capacity there isnt it? 45000 OT held in 93 or somewhere near that mark.

25000 is half of your capacity and its likely you gave away a large portion of tickets or at least offered discounts.

Plus you had to go back 18 years to find an example ( there are more recent ones where only 60000 turned up to watch the likes of Exeter ) which says alot. Its very very rare for us not to have a full house regardless of who we play where as City quite often have 10000 or more under capacity.

How are they expected to met any of the FA guidlines. Spending $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and not selling enough tickets to pull in a profit? I don't get it at all. Sure, we have debt, but that's being addressed in a positive manner. City are just out of control without any black ink coming into play. When the sheik gets bored, they'll have a sell-fest and drop a division.

The Man City fans once took **** loads to a Division 1 game at Blackburn.

Probably more than who turned up last night.

Man Citys team that day cost < £1million I suspect and was shocking.

Man Citys team last night cost > £100million.

What a pathetic small time club.
