The Club and Maddison are miles apart wages wise. Plus Maddison really doesn't want to move to us. I don't know if that is because of moving south or he just doesn't fancy us. But I really can't see how this deal can be completed.
i feel that we just need one decent signing as a show of intent, to get the next one and the next one in. so far swansea have beaten us to 2 of the signings we wanted to make. we need players to take note that we're now the man city of the championship (lol!).
Fair comment, I'd like to know wtf is the problem with the Bowyer situation. There must have been talks going on a long while before the official takeover.
Agreed. I think it would have been announced by now if a deal was there to be made. In a similar vein, Bowyer said that he wanted his contract signed by Monday; does this mean there are problems? However, it could be they are waiting until the next home game to announce it, at which time the owner from Abu Dhabi could also be in attendance; if so, it would make a nice double celebration..........
You would hope that Lee Bowyer has sent Matt Southall the following text this morning - “I urgently need new players for Saturday”.
Rich Cawley has Tweeted that Swansea are paying a loan fee for Gallagher, plus meeting a bigger percentage of the player’s wages. It again begs the question of why ESI couldn’t have done the same.
Chelsea are too rich to care about money, I doubt it was down to that. I reckon they weren't expecting him to do so well and now want to test him with "better" clubs (even though we play the same opposition) like Swansea with the aim of fast tracking him into a prem loan next year.
Exactly. It has been said as well that there was supposed concern from Chelsea that Charlton were lacking experienced players that Gallagher could learn from. However, the crux of the problem I reckon is the finance.
@DickPlumb The Sun claiming we are close to deals for Maddison & Bryan. Alan Nixon is normally pretty on the money.
The last I heard about Maddison is that his agent and us were far apart. That gap might have been bridged. I don't know anything about Bryan.
