On a more serious note. It was a pleasure to watch Gallagher for half a season, an unbelievable player for 19 and I wish him all the best
Are we having a competition with ITTV at the moment to see who can be most pessimistic about our future? When the red, red robin comes bob, bob bobbin' along, along There'll be no more sobbin' when he starts throbbin' His own sweet song Wake up, wake up, you sleepy head Get up, get up, get out of bed Cheer up, cheer up the sun is red Live, love, laugh and be happy What if I've been blue Now I'm walking through fields of flowers Rain may glisten, but still I listen for hours and hours I'm just a kid again, doing what I did again, singin' a song When the red, red robin comes bob, bob bobbin' along When the red, red robin comes bob, bob bobbin' along,…
@lardiman It’s got nothing to do with being pessimistic. We are 15 days into the January transfer window. - Green (loan) has replaced Leko (gone) - Gallagher, our POTY to date, gone. - Linked with a League One midfielder, who’s chairman is acting like a whore on Twitter. It’s not exactly inspiring, is it ?
Call me Jeddez, but we have 17 days to go Granted Gallagher leaving is bad news. But negativity and pessimism is snowballing today on the forums. People are saying Bowyer isn't happy, he's going to walk away and God knows what else. And now we're nailed on to go down as well Come on guys, have a little faith.
I’ll reserve judgement until 31 Jan, by which we need Bowyer signed up to a new contract, and at least five new players. It’s all very underwhelming at the moment. It feels like we have been asleep on the job regarding Gallagher.
The thing is lardi it's hard mate. When for a few months your travelling up and down the country and abroad going to watch the team knowing your probably coming away with no points. With our injuries and Roland in charge that's the way it goes. As Royston said we need 5 players and we need them coming in and hitting the ground straight away. There are 17 days to go , but if we don't get this right we could top up in league 1 when in my eyes there's no need to.
There’s a difference between being a pessimist & a realist. As things stand, we are not good enough to stay up. One win in 18 is horrific. Now we have lost Gallagher - a star man. Anyone thinking that the returning sick notes will save us - assuming they return - needs to give their head a shake. Aneke, Oztumer, Page, JF-C ....all squad players at best.
Choose to be optimistic, it feels better.....A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty
Not at all. I have a creative solution for every problem- for example on Conor Gallagher we (ESI) should have agreed to meet his full wage.
There aren't any grounds for optimism atm, although that could change. Matt Southall has stated that he offered Taylor a new contract months ago, which means that he has been involved long enough to hit the ground running. Yet half way through the window we find ourselves weaker than we were at the beginning, Neither Taylor nor Bowyer has signed a new contract, and the only player coming in is a like-for-like loan. I don't think we're necessarily doomed, but we face a relegation dogfight. The next 2 weeks are decisive.
We need a statement from Chairman or management giving us the reasons why Gallagher has gone, and not simply '......because Chelsea are his parent club', that will not cut it If Chairman wants to engage with the fans, now is the time to do it. We need to know why? Furthermore, does this alter their transfer agenda? to make matters worse, JOSH Cullen has been injured in training
"He’s come in, learnt and he’s going back a better player than we received and that’s what our job is - to improve players." why not our players?
