They don’t have to be registered unless we plan on playing them which I very much doubt. Can see both being loaned or sold this window.
He’s not a fan of the English lifestyle is he? I swear I read that somewhere that he’d prefer to play in Europe because of things like that.
Can’t pretend I know too much on this one mate but of the digging I’ve done, he seems somewhat of a younger Sissoko but with a lot more technique and an eye for a pass. So even though he’s more box-to-box than a DM, he could work really well alongside Tanguy The only concern I’d have is that he supposedly fell out with his manager, which is why his game time this season has been limited. Other than that, I’d say we should be pretty happy with the signing. Jose and his staff should enjoy working with him due to the Portuguese factor and we’ll have Lucas and Dier who can help him settle into the squad.
In terms of falling out with him manager, Benfica's manager has been playing him on the right wing this season instead of as a centre midfielder, which goes a long way towards explaining the issue
Fernandes Watch Things have got serious: somebody's broken out the flight tracker, tracking a jet that flew from Lisbon-Cascais to Biggin Hill late last night please log in to view this image Fernandes Watch No, the other one So the talk going around, albeit without a credible source, is we're offering cash + a six month loan of Foyth to sign Bruno Fernandes Of course, somebody from the BBC is saying this is false Just a reminder, the BBC is so trustworth that they doctor footage in their news coverage so the lower orders don't realise how politically and socially inept Alexander Boris Du Pfeffel Johnson is General Loan Stuff Derby and Celtic are both eyeing loans for Jack Clarke Meanwhile, The Athletic really aren't letting go of Skipp being loaned out, yet funnily enough can't name a single club as a destination...
Gedson to Spurs, Bruno to Man Utd. Considering Bruno is the better player and wanted to join Spurs in the summer, why have Spurs gone for the lesser option?
Yep. Gedson is for sure an almost temporary solution/punt/low risk gamble to help cover a multitude of CM shaped issues. (Wanyama. Sissoko.) Plus… Gedson is a loan deal, Bruno is not. Levy is trying to pace and delay any major big spends into the future, at least until summer. Gedson is a younger player, 21, whilst Bruno is 25. I am hoping though (yeah I know it's the hope that kills you! ) that once Eriksen leaves, that Mourinho will do that last minute swoop thing that he did to us with you know who, and pinch Bruno from under Man United's noses with some slick Portuguese talk, just for the fun of it. It would make great press conference and Amazon documentary material. I see that Bruno also plays as a support striker. I could even imagine a situation where the Piatek deal doesn't happen, (Levy won't like his hand being forced to spend £30 and I'm sure he'd rather a loan deal) and a Bruno deal does.
One thing worth mentioning: both Fernandeses happen to be with the same agency Considering how it's been widely reported that Steptonho got on the blower to Jorge Mendes to get the wheels moving on the Gedson deal, I'm surprised nobody is speculating that he asked him about a 2-for-1 deal, especially considering he's apparently a mover and shaker for Bruno ...and before anyone asks, no, neither of them are Mendes clients
The effect of missing a sitter? Need more than just someone who runs around and works hard. Let’s be honest, people like me or you could make more effort than Rose or Eriksen have recently.
Actually, somebody who works hard is exactly what the team needs, considering how often we've been undone this season by the likes of Eriksen and Rose half-assing it
Bruno is a fantastic player and Utd will likely love him but right now we do have more pressing concerns. I think it comes down to wants and needs, we’d all want Bruno but we need ideally a CM/DM, ST and RB this window. If we can get Gedson, Piatek and a RB for the same money as Bruno, it’s a no-brainer for me.
And a piece of potential ITK for you all - my cousin just drove by Hotspur Way on his way to a job, he said a blacked out cab entered as he was going by, could be Gedson arriving?
When you're not playing well, working hard and getting stuck in is an absolute must. Unfortunately it isn't for Christian Eriksen, so he should only be coming off the bench, until he checks out completely. However, Mourinho keeps starting the ****er. We're in no position to start being picky. If someone's putting in the effort, to beneficial effect, they should be in the team. I don't care if they're not Mourinho type players. A drowning man can't bre picky about what colour life jacket he wears. That means Lo Celso not Eriksen; Sessegnon not Rose; Tanganga not Vertonghen In the summer, then we can pick and choose who has a long term future. Right now, getting some sort of form together and results to get us EL football are all that matter.
