Aha - "Febbos the Usurper" or "Febbos the Pretender". Encroaching on the "Original Predictions League" concept. Bloody upstart. Start a revolt Tigger. There are a few peasants on here with experience in such a movement. Where's Wat Tyler when you need him for solidarity ?

Slightly dead, I'm afraid. Anyway, I've got to the last four with Sir Cheshire Ben in Febbos' competition, so I'm not complaining too loudly as I know he reads this thread. Pause while I consider using the peasants are revolting line then reject the idea.
Now that I have your attention … not being watched. I like your idea of organising a subsidiary league that you can't be relegated from. Very clever. TC could learn from you. I will stop now as I am in danger of being evicted from both leagues.
The problem with young uns today - instant gratification ! Half the joy is in the build-up and reaching a sustainable climax

Thanks TC. Loved it. I saw it first time round but I laughed all the way through it again. I could remember Shaw and Wilde but I'd forgotten Whistler. Sadly, I still do that "One of Shaw's" routine with one of my friends from school. Anybody who hasn't seen it, watch it and then lament that we have stooped to the likes of the Young Offenders in television comedy. There are advantages in being old. Wink, wink. Say no more.
