Just be honest WJ...bet you wish you'd been there that night ? I was obviously persona non grata as they waited until I'd gone home before having all the fun
Club accounts due soon for 2018/19 However, here is what has been reported in the media (YEP) and on the club website for the last few years accounts (which end in June of each year). 2013/14 - £23 million loss 2014/15 - £2 million loss 2015/16 - £9 million loss 2016/17 - £1 million profit 2017/18 - £4 million loss Figures rounded to the nearest million. Now I'm able to say whether investements from 49'ers etc which are in those accounts are permissable regarding FFP. Make if it what you will...but some serious questions need answering in my opinion. I asked Phil Hay and he understandably towed the party line trotted out by the club that we're close to breaching the regulations.
Say what you like about Cellino... But he knows how to run a football club and didn't spunk all the money on player wages. Ok, he signed too many Serie B players who were not as good as he thought or perhaps more accurately he misjudged how competitive the Championship was/is. Still thought the guy had his heart in it though and not sure I can say that about Radz.
Would you listen to Mike Thorne? He said that after the fire sale we totalled a £36m loss over the last 3 years. ANY loss in one year fails Test 1 of the new FFP regulations. We failed. The £36m loss got us through Test 2. Just. https://www.mikethornton.xyz/new-ffp-tests/
Thanks WJ... I have read that before, however have just noted the update for relegated PL clubs which is something I was unaware of and actually makes a massive difference. We still don't know where we are until the club announce the financial results for 2018/19 (ended 30th June 2019). Surely a record year in terms of income don't you think ?
Definitely, given our success so far AND the Centenary. However, costs also at an all time high. Believe the wage bill is way in excess of £30m+
Yes it's widely reported to be in excess of £30 million. Income though should be approaching £50 million...it was already at £40 million in the last published accounts and that was the TC/Heckingbottom season.
We were Celino’s toy, he is the poor mans Abramovich. Cellino wanted to play championship manager with us, he meant well, he loves football but he discovered the hard way that you can’t do it on the cheap. Radz is a business man with a squeaky clean CV, he won’t ever put us first, at the same time he won’t want to fail but he is always going to run everything through his risk assessment calculations first.
My feeling from the heart is... Radz has just got lucky with Bielsa. If he'd appointed any other coach then things would be entirely different to what they are now. Lucky guy I guess...you do know he's the one that sold his company for £850 million and it went bust less than 2 years later ?
