    I had to placate Mrs AberdeenSaint by taking her to the cinema this afternoon - got a bollocking at the 81st minute. Not even the text updates on the BBC calling Armstrong an Englishman could dampen my excitement. Well done Saints!

    Oh agreed. And for my part, apologies to the players. Except Austin.

    I think Ralph got it wrong at the start of the season by trying to progress a team that doesn’t have the capability in it. He stuck to that for a while, then got a short sharp one in the 0-9.

    But he learned. And it was just evident that this is no idiot - you just need to look at his record to know he is class. Regardless of whether it was in Germany (hardly a poor league), had he failed/been sacked here, it would have been a massive blip on a stellar management career. There are other, lauded managers who had a blip of success in an otherwise average career. Like...umm...Alan Ball :)
