    The Duchatelet era, with all the false dawns has made us a bit paranoid. Not to mention the previous owners. These owners seem kosher to me.

    I meant the story we've been told by people on social media and people posting on forums. Not employees of ESI. Folks (fans) who are apparently ITK and have been stating that the ESI take-over is complete as though it's a known fact.
    I suspect they have been getting their information from online news sites like SLP, and because they want to believe it they take it as gospel, and ignore any vagueness or gaps in the actual information.

    I accept, as you point out, that ESI themselves have said almost nothing

    I very much look forward to the interview and the press conference.
    I'm hoping they will give us some solid facts, and not just optimistic visions. We're all onboard with the better future commitment.

    Some sensible comments from Matt Southall.

    “we have inherited a very lean structure” =

    Duchatelet cut everything back to the bone.

    Surely they could make it leaner by cutting some Perks?

    Here is a screencap of Mundell's thoughts on the Southall interview, and my reply to it, from ITTV.
    Apologies for capping it, I thought it quicker than copying and pasting all the text;

    One question must now be answered, as soon as possible and with absolute clarity:

    Who owns the land?

    You know I love you in real life @lardiman <smooch>, but I am really struggling to see what your issue with the training ground is.

    1. It’s of no use to Duchatelet, who wants rid.
    2. ESI have a contractual agreement to buy it.
    3. ESI plan to invest millions in Sparrows Lane.
    4. The reason they haven’t bought it yet is that it would have delayed the takeover in January, which would probably have led to relegation.

    I honestly cannot see what the issue is ?

    @lardiman

    ESI own the Valley, lock, stock & barrel. And Olly Groome.

    I love you too Royston.

    All I would say is if ESI own everything including the land, why have they not simply stated that.

    They could state it very easily on the official CAFC website.
    Matt Southall could have stated it in his interview.

    But on the website it says that ESI owns Charlton Athletic Football Company Limited.
    Not the holding company. And not Baton 2010.

    And Matt Southall said ESI owns the Football Club.

    I'm sorry, but those answers are far too ambiguous.
    Particularly when we are now informed that ESI does not own the Sparrows Lane facilities - even if that is supposed to be a temporary arrangement.

    Am I really the only one who gets the distinct feeling that fans are being 'softened up' or eased gradually into a position where it will be broken gently to them soon that, erm, actually... Duchatelet still owns the land (but don't worry, it doesn't really matter)?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    You tell me that ESI own everything, lock, stock and barrel.
    You sound 100% certain of that.
    I hope you are right. But I really want to hear it from ESI, or Companies House.
    I agree ESI owns Olly Groome. He'll work for anybody <diva>
