Sorry Beddy but you are mistaken.

Australia has ruled out a post-Brexit trade deal involving visa-free travel and work arrangements with the UK.

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...er-cant-imagine-visa-free-travel-deal-with-uk

Trade deals usually means exchange of goods not human beings. Australia have only said they will not allow free movement. They will agree to selling us goods and us sending them goods..............You cannot trade in human beings!!! Or at least that used to be the said..........There aren't many countries doing that these days......

All this is similar to the conflict with Japan and the states all those years ago..............What puzzles me is why Iraq is so upset about it................... I'm being told though that Iran is gradually taking Iraq over.....is this right?.........
We were upset when a couple of Russians were almost assassinated on our soil a few years back. It's pretty natural to be upset when a foreign government murder people in your country without your permission imo.

For a start the murdered person as you call it was Iranian. Secondly he was in a group who have been fighting the Americans and was killed in Syria wasn't he..................Remember it wasn't so long ago the Iranians and Iraqies were fighting a foolscale war with each other.

They have only rejected a free movement bill.......Nothing more
I give up.
To clarify, the whole of the deal was rejected. free movement the cause there may be other reasons. "Hopes of a flurry of post-Brexit trade deals were dashed this week after the Australian government rejected a UK offer that included visa-free work and travel between the two countries".

Interesting point. Aussies are allowed 6 months work and travel visa free access to the UK. UK citizens must have a visa for entry, type and cost dependant on reason/time. Take back control, free up housing and jobs in Earls Court AKA Kangaroo Valley.

Beddy, you are not reading this quite correctly.

A trade deal involves, and is often conditional on, clauses that involve the free movement of people between the countries negotiating the deal.

That is what all the fuss is about over the forth coming trade deal talks with the EU. At the moment all EU citizens have the right to live and work wherever they wish to within Europe. The trade talks will include the free movement of people, and right wing loony tunes here don't want that. If we don't agree with what the EU insists upon regarding free movement of people, the likely outcome is no trade deal between the EU and UK.

Not quite as straightforward as that Beddy you need to do a bit more research. The attack took place at Baghdad airport IRAQ and an Iraqi leader was also killed.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Baghdad_International_Airport_airstrike
"The legality of the attack was subsequently brought into question in respect to international law, as well as the domestic laws of the United States and its bilateral security agreements with Iraq. The strike was widely considered to be an assassination, which is illegal in the United States by executive order".
Another Trump ****storm.

Ok.......... I understand about the conditions of the trade deal. My understanding comes Direct from Australia and is that they will not consider a trade deal that includes freedom of movement they have said this all along.............That I'm told it is not a rejection of a trade deal as such but it must not be included as a condition of a trade deal as it won't be accepted...........The head line trade deal rejected is a little far fetched and exaggerated is all I'm saying it won't be long before we are fully trading with the Aussies and New Zealand I cannot see it not happening because they want to do to us what we ourselves are doing to the Europeans. Thats why Im surprised it was even mentioned............

This from your post

I don’t think that everyone who voted Leave understands this, and that for every European worker being shown out the door, when freedom of movement ends, they will be replaced by immigrants from other parts of the world, as a result of those countries insisting on more entry visas being issued to their citizens in return for a trade deal.

I think some of the nastier types will be apoplectic with rage when they realise that we will be swapping immigrants, with the same colour skin as us, for immigrants whose skin is a different shade.
Should make for some interesting news interviews and, who knows, maybe the penny will finally drop that they have been conned by the people who told them that we were taking back control.

This, this and this.

Imagine say a country like say China or India has somehting we really want. Let's strike a favourable trade deal. Ah, freedom of movement for people...ok.

So all of a sudden, rather than Europeans 'stealing or jobs' we have most of Asia. Genius. Let's take back control.

Which is what people opposing Brexit who know about international free trade agreements have been warning about ever since the whole business started. Of course free trade agreements must include freedom of movement, it goes without saying.

guys am I missing something here............we deal with a lot of countries trade wise that don’t have freedom of movement. China, Japan, USA, Canada just to name a few. Australia and New Zealand used to deal with us without the freedom clause prior to us joining the EU so what’s changed?

edit.........Australia deal with the EU without such a deal as does New Zealand

Beddy you are. We are not talking about striking a deal for individual items like tea or for kiwis. We are talking free trade agreement between two countries across the board. (Like we had within the EU when we were in it)

I never heard of any freedom of movement between EU and Canada in their free trade deal.
The Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria had declared they would not endorse the agreement, in effect scuppering the entire agreement, until the visa requirements for their citizens entering Canada were lifted. All other EU countries already had visa free travel to Canada. Visas requirements were lifted for the Czech Republic on November 14, 2013. Canada has given a written undertaking to cancel visa requirements for Bulgarian and Romanian nationals visiting Canada for business and tourism, within a timeframe no later than the end of 2017. Canada lifted visa requirements for Bulgarian and Romanian citizens on 1 December 2017.
