Oh come on. Yes he did the hard part but a £50M striker (or even a £1M striker) should have buried it from that position. And I actually like Torres a lot.

Scott: "This is a very, very hard game to predict!" Er... not really, mate. Can't see us getting anything from the game to be honest. We gifted a silly goal to a very poor Arsenal but this is a different kettle of fish, and Chelsea have played well so far this season. If we weren't so decimated by defensive injuries then we might manage to keep them out with a bit of luck but not now. I hate being so negative but 2 nil minimum for me so I'm hoping that at least we stay true to our principles and put up a good show. Best we can hope for I'm afraid. Really hope I'm wrong though.

Well I'm going against popular opinion, and I don't see this game as difficult a challenge as the Man city game, I hope that the old timers of Lampard and Terry will play, and I think that Sinclair and Dyer will be very effective against the Chelsea back-line which I don't rate, I see Chelsea as a team in transition, and I'm sure our boys will give it one hell of a go for Rodgers, for obvious reasons, hope Torres has his usual game!! 2-1 to the Mighty Swans..........

You must not have been watching Anelka play this season.

As for the thread, great job. Hoping I'm able to find a stream of the match and my internet cooperates this week. An open, attacking game would be fantastic.

Well any man, when forced to bet, would go with a landslide home game, but in reality it's almost always closer than that? Until Aguero, who has lit up the league since, came on, we were doing alright at Man City (but granted we couldn't have complained if Man City had gone on to win anyway) and they're arguably stronger than Chelsea at the moment, in terms of "star players" at least?

I didn't really mean the scoreline to be honest! I meant as to how the game would go in general, whether it'll be straightforward, whether we'll weather the storm or not, etc etc.

OK. Still think we won't get anything but you never know. As for 'not rating a back line' that includes Cole and Terry.... hmmm. Can't agree. Would any Swans fan say that if they played for us? <laugh> Thought not.

Oh and I agree. Musty does make some loony comments at times. Anelka has been superb this season. <ok>

I think John Terry is reaching his sell-by date.

I didn't ask you to agree, but the fact is that Chelsea's backline, has imploded the last few games against Manu within minutes of the game starting, speaks volumes, and as for Terry playing for us, no thank you, let's hope Sturridge plays as well, as he's looking pedestrian!.....................

Yes ....I know you didn't ask me to agree. I was just expressing the fact that I don't, that's all. I can still do that right?

Not many teams will have a solid defensive outing agains Man U this season from what I've seen so the comment isn't exactly relevant with all due respect. We're not Man U and Terry remains one of the better defenders around.

Seem to recall similar comments before the Man City game about how poor they were in the Charity Shield and how Mancini was pants.

Let's keep our feet on the ground, I say. We are going to have to be at our best and Chelsea to be below par to get anything. Unpalatable for some but the truth nonetheless.

great thread scott, im hoping for a really good show by the jacks but i dont see why we cant come away from this game with nothing as lower prem league teams have in the passed just its our turn to climb that table. going for either a 1-1 or a 2-1 win for us

Quality article Scott. I am optimistic that we can get something from the game. Yes we have to play too our full potential and Chelsea be a bit under par, but I still believe we can get something.
I am intrigued to now Dyer get's on against Cole, really looking forward to that battle. Just hope Nathan get's the better of him, Cole is one player that I just can't stand. I will say though he is a quality player. Why would you mess Cheryl Cole around, no brain!!!! LOL!!!

So you say! We shall see, but don't bull Manu up, Chelsea are weak at the back, and it won't only be Manu, that will exploit that, this season!.......................

This is Chelsea we are talking about DP.....calm down! Be happy to take anything away from the Bridge, however Cech got injured tonight and went off. Possibly a precaution but any team would miss him. Also Alex getting sent off weakens their bench and Sturridge went off also.....so it looks like we will have 'BIG GUNS' up front agains us....bring it on!

Like I said in the thread, I think a lot will depend on how highly AVB rates our midfield. I'm hoping he underestimates us and we get a chance to get our foot on the ball... never know!

    Nathan Dyer before the weekend's game;

Any Chelsea fans know anything about Sturridge and Cech's injuries? They going to be ok for the weekend?

    Really good thread mate!

Should be a great game. Im going to the match and Im really looking forward to it. Norwich came to stamford bridge and gave it a good go and I expect more of the same from swansea. I think that we will win 3-1 but it will be a tighter game than many expect.
I hear that you've sold out the 3200 allocation! Norwich did as well and they made a lot of noise. I'll be in a good position to judge as I sit about 15 rows across from the away support to the right in the upper tier... Looking forward to an enjoyable day.. anyone on here going?

There's normally quite a few guys off here who go to the away games, I think because of where Swansea is (out on a westerly limb, as it were) a lot of people move away to work... which means that away games actually become easier to get to!

Expect the Jack army to make a load of noise! ;)

another loony comment - those of you who rate cole as one of the best left backs in the game are loony, surely chelsea must be looking at selling drogba, anelka, terry and lampard, we will see saturday and if i am wrong i will gladly eat my words

I don't know man, he's been consistently good for years. Name some left backs better than him?

<laugh> You been drinking, musty? The players you mention are some of the most consistent performers in the game. Even if they fall below their usual standards this season (and I've seen little evidence of that) we'd kill to have any in a Swans shirt. We'd never afford them of course.

As for 'bulling Man U up'......

Top of the Prem, maximum points, +17 GD after just 5 games......hmmm.
