One of my best mates is a Leeds fan, ironically. Watched them half a dozen times this season, they should really have gone up last season, were in the top 2 all season then imploded in the last 10 games to drop into third and then lost in the play offs. Can't see anyone catching them and Brom in the top 2 now, they will be in the PL next season I feel. Bielsa is a top class coach as well, best in the world, according to Pep. So I think they may be a surprise package in the PL next season.
Nah, Leeds were good. They had a better energy and commitment than us in the 1st half. We stepped it up and matched them in the 2nd half. We did to them what they did to us.
Also agree with @Tobes that their main issue is they lack a clinical finisher. Bamford just hasnt got that killer instinct. With someone more clinical upfront they'd be 10 points clear of Brom in the Championship
Well I am a Chelsea fan, my dad hated Leeds with a passion. Also have a good friend who supports QPR too
Bielsa is a quality coach, both Pep and Arteta wax lyrical about him and his approach. They looked every bit a PL team in the 1st half and they should get promoted this season. About time really, they've had the chance to come up a few seasons in a row now, a couple times they looked nailed on for automatic promotion and managed to miss out in the playoffs.
Xhaka is so awful in the tackle. He fouls so much. If the ref is lenient he can be useful, if the ref is on point he is a ****ing liability! Martinelli has potential to do better than any youth player since Fabregas. He has a brilliant first touch, great skills, good finishing and an amazing ability to be in the right place at the right time. 8 goals so far this season in limited appearances in cups and as a sub. I think he will go on to big things (so I hope we actually do well enough to keep hold of him!). Apparently he is very highly rated in Brazil. The ref, and the whole officiating team tbh, were determined not to call any free kicks or give any cards if at all possible. In the first half Leeds got away with some small fouls and aggressive play, nothing OTT and then Arsenal seemed to realise this and take full advantage by upping the aggression. Also Laca was lucky not to get a red. Leeds were lucky not to get a red for a similar altercation on sokratis. I personally think it was all a bit of bite but nothing nasty and it would have been a shame to actually see red cards for either team. Properly enjoyed that game, thought it had a bit of everything.
Point is, he’s a young player - but not an Arsenal youth player. Like, say, Alex Iwobi was an Arsenal youth player (surprised Arsenal let him go tbh).
Not from our academy no but he is still a teenager brought into the club with huge potential showing imo that he is going to be a great player
