Upon ash's move to preston, I think NP is going to have to pull something out the bag and suprise us all to control the game and get a decent result. Ash will obviously know exactly how we work, how to contain individuals and expose us, and will be teaching his new team everything about us. I know missing harper will give us differences in midfield, but I think we really need to play a different way and throw their game plan way off track from the first minute. In doing so this will expose one of their big weaknesses, PB's lack of a plan b.

I expect to see an unchanged team, but I'd like to see us line up 4-3-3 bringing koren central and moving Stewart up front, he will run wayne brown ragged. Possibly belaid in for cairney, haven't seen the game yet but judging how cairney was subbed early I imagine he wasn't great, and I'd like to see what belaid can do.

What do the rest of you reckon?

Do you really think you'd last five seconds Midlands if you were put in charge of City training? The players would have a field day. We've all got our opinions but I think some of the posts on here are a bit too UEFA TV Couch Potato Coaching Badge.

    433 all out attack

    Rosenior Chester Gerrard Dawson
    Koren Evans Cairney
    McLean Fryatt Stewart

Preston wont be able to handle our pace and that's where we need to exploit them.

Ash vs the young legs of Evans should be an interesting one, I cant see Preston ending the game with 11 men lol

I don't think they will be good enough to come here and get anything, They are piss poor with or without inside info.

Exactly what I'm saying jay... specifically stewart up against wayne brown being the main point, even a tortoise could out pace him. In my little world it would be like putting a ferrari FXX against a 1 litre metro.

And yeah they are definately poor but this will be one where I think they will up their game, and if we play with our usual style might know enough about us to contain us. Even so I still think we'd take the points, but controlling the game wise, I think something fresh is on the cards to avoid it being a scrappy affair.

I think the OP is giving Ash a bit too much credit, I can see us dominating their midfield quite easily, they aren't very good, with or without Ash and his words of wisdom.

It sone thing knowing how a team plays, its another trying to stop them. Ash aint got the legs anymore which will result in a number of free kicks, and ultimately card(s) issued against our mobile unit.

Was Cairney that bad on Saturday? I thought he had a decent but not spectacular game.

:emoticon-0102-bigsmWayne Brown has the turning circle of a Spanish Gallion and Ash is a proper fatso. We should skin this lot but as Grievesy used to say....it's a funny old game.Balls to being defensive agianst this shower of ****e.I'd still go 442 with Koren in the middle and Devitt(out wide) in for Cairney.I'm predicting another thumping win, 3 of 4 nil.

I recognise that and don't think ash on the field will make any difference at all. Just his extensive knowledge of our game if we play the same way we've been playing the last couple of months. Tactics play a big part, and we know brownie will line up to stop our current style, and we all now brownie has never heard of a plan b, so all I'm saying is if we throw something completely new out the bag, take them by surprise and give them a full on pasting.

I'm 99.9% sure we will beat them no matter what, I just think we should take a different approach this time and go all out attack and throw the book at them rather than wait for them to take our bait.

I wasn't there on Saturday was just going on the fact hardly anyones spared a thought about him on here and he was subbed on 50 something minutes. Going to watch the game on tigers player when I get home if it's up then I'll be able to make a proper judgement. Still excited to see what belaid has to offer though..

weve had one high scoring win, and all of a sudden everybody thinks where barca , 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 been thrown all over..<laugh>
i think wel win, but wel have to work for it..hel probably throw harper straight back in, which restricts the attacking threat from midfield for starters...
    1-0 city i reckon.

I'm not a Cairney fan, I think the lad is suffering from being overrated after a couple of decent shows in the EPL. On Saturday he wasn't noticeably poor, he looked like he wasn't Match fit, lacked the usual yard of speed. He did try challenging a bit more than the last time he played and got a couple of good blocks in. That said I saw him challenge for a few headers and not win one!

If we had a stronger midfield I'd say he needs to go out on loan to a league one outfit.

Belaid is the one to watch out for !

Thing is mate I reckon Cairney believes he is too good for this division let alone league one.He needs to knuckle down and get rid of all the bling( when did it become the norm for footballers to wear diamond earings ???), get his hair cut and ****ing well frame !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same team as Saturday, why change a winning team, they played well and should all get another shot. If we play with a midfield instead of the long ball over the top we'll beat them like we did the scunts. Phil Brown will sit back and Preston do not have the pace at the back to cope with Mclean and Fryatt. And out back four are longer stronger each time they play, and I highly doubt Nathan Ellington will produce a threat. Come on you Hull, Whit ****e in the play offs.

I think worrying about how we approach this game might be valid if Preston were a mid-table side.

However they aren't. They are not at the bottom of the league for no reason.

I think so long as we concentrate on what we do well the game will take care of itself, whatever Ash brings to the table (see what I did there?)

Assuming Koren and Harper are out and Rosenior is in I would go for:

    Guzan

    Rosenior Gerrard Chester Dawson

Belaid or Devitt Evans Cairney Stewart

    McLean Fryatt

as for the result, I really don't care as long as we win, so I'll go for 2-1.

Preston are notoriously very week at the back, at the weekend they were all over their opposition for 90 minutes but were hit on the break four times, which by Browns own admission killed them as they are slow and weak at the back. Basing my team round this would mean playing the same team but telling Stewart and Koren or whoever plays on the wing to get white on their boots and break fast.

99.9 % sure is pretty damned confident. If that's the case you could make yourself very rich at the bookies. Stick your house on a City Win !!
