lets be honest, the FA has lost its magic. I do begrudge paying £15 to watch what is a Reserve fixture in all but name.
If I still lived in SE7 I might agree. But I'm not driving 50 miles (even on a Sunday) to watch our 3rd team get a rogering from WBA's second team.
Genuine question ...who plays up front in the FA Cup ? Sarr ? we were chanting his name last night to play up top, and the big fella was grinning.
I'm lucky, I can get there in an hour, door-to-door. And doesn't cost a penny with my freedom pass. It does help, I must admit.
It looks though the only regulars starting today will be Solly, Sarr and possibly Pearce. As well as Dillon in goal. You would have to assume that young Josh Davison will start on his own up front in a 4-5-1 formation.
Dr Kish says that Doherty is Cup tied so can not play … perhaps not a bad thing as he is fast becoming an integral part of the team.
The team for today Maynard- Brewer Solly, Osilija, Pearce, Stevenson Ledley, Sarpong- Wiredu, Maloney, Morgan Davison, Green
Maybe Dillon for Brewer & Oshilaja in midfield ahead of Ledley. Robocop Joe won’t want to jeopardise his lucrative move to the MLS in January by playing today.,
Whatever the result this afternoon, I hope we don’t get the annual FA Cup cry of “betrayal” at 4pm. Bowyer could not have been clearer about his team selection today, and the reasons behind. It’s a cut priced admission as a result. If you are not going to be happy seeing the kids run out and then get beat ...don’t go !
I cried 'betrayal' last season after the Doncaster home defeat. But things are different now. Our squad is ravaged by injuries, we must concentrate on retaining Championship status, and my scepticism about Lee Bowyer was ended when he got Charlton promoted at the end of the 2018-19 season. I'll never doubt him again. Best of luck to our kids today, but fans know what to expect.
Agreed. I normally like to see us have a go at the Cup,but we have never done so, even under Curbs, when he put out a strong team. I have never read anyone use the word betrayal, it's more common in politics. This season is different though, with the players dropping like flies, I don't expect a win, fear a replay.
