I’d gladly take a trip away to the winners of QPR vs Swansea. Either would do, as I’d love a trip to Wales, but Shepherds Bush is on my doorstep

Last season at Griffin Park isn't it before they move to a new stadium? One of favourite away venues.

Oh yeah I forgot there's games tomorrow <doh> Burton or Charlton could be decent if they get through.

Think you might be right there. I've been once but not with Saints sadly and not on the terrace.

    Well there is that.

All in all I think away to the winners of Burton/Northampton would be both winnable and different.

If it's Northampton, everyone can pile back to FLT's place for a piss up afterwards. I'm sure he wouldn't mind...

Worth remembering that this is a big day for those two youngsters and their families. It’s an incredible achievement to play any sport professionally. Thanks for choosing saints as your club and congratulations on both making your debuts and securing the win. Bravo.

Will Smallbone and Jake Vokins both scoring was brilliant and should keep them smiling for the rest of the weekend. I thought Vokins looked very composed and he could well turn out to be a good back up to Bertie. Kevin Danso had a fairly solid game and given a run in the team I have a feeling he would be a real asset. I like him.

It would be all too easy to criticise some of the players today but we won comfortably without even having to play well. There were no sparkling performances but we got the job done so it’s pretty positive all round. Can’t ask for more than that.

By the way, I reckon we will have to re-name JWP “Duracell” the way he keeps going. He is one seriously fit guy.

Pompey in the 4th round at St Mary’s please.

I didn't know they were moving house, that's a shame. A lovely old ground with a pub on each corner but I've been there before, somewhere new would be good. Oxford's nice and close.

That Southampton do not meet Pompey. Other lower League opponents at home is fine with me.

You're right, but Carlisle is a very long way, unless I could combine the match with visiting my son in Faslane. :)

Ralph’s comments about the young players are very telling. You can see it in JWP right now, working every area of the pitch going forward and tracking back. It’s obviously not something the squad is accustomed to yet but the dividend is there once the work has been done.

And we can finally establish dominance in the directional-hampton derby. Will be difficult to find a competition where we can play East Hampton FC of the Long Island Soccer Football league in New York State, but maybe a preseason friendly or something.
