You were one of the first of the Car Park protesters, you should be pleased CARD/Everitt had the know how and organisation to carry on with their efforts.
Nice level of friendly banter on here today. IA, Major and the bully boys during the bad old days on ITTV knew how to gang up on another member, but their worst efforts are nothing compared to the collective kicking received by Elfs here today, just because he chose to boycott. I wish I had been strong enough to do the same. I want to believe Duchatelet is 100% gone, but my distrust of the Belgian goes beyond paranoia. I simply will not believe he has no remaining stake in some aspect of Charlton Athletic, until the Companies House records say so. Until then, I'm not celebrating anything. Roland has deceived Charlton fans too many times. I'm not falling for it again. I never should have believed it in the first place. I hope the Companies House records are updated by 11th January, or I won't be going to that WBA game. Or any other home game ever, if it turns out Duchatelet is still part of the fabric of CAFC in some way.
100%, particularly paragraphs 2 and 4 mate. Still lining the pockets of the Belgian is not happening. Or is this attention seeking?
Not at all. Elf’s is a likeable character, but he has been repeatedly asked not to ruin every thread on here by posting irrelevant comments. Ditto turning every thread into a conversation about him. That’s not too much to ask, surely....
I think accusing Elfs of only boycotting to seek attention is out of order. And implying that he will become irrelevant once CAFC has a decent owner is pretty harsh too. I know Elfs gets plenty of banter style abuse (mostly light hearted) and he gives plenty back. But today here it felt different. As if some people were trying to hurt, rather than just having a bit of fun. And that provoked him into a reply which he would not usually have posted Just my opinion. If you really feel he is out of control on this forum, you have the power to take action. I'd like to think we can all get on with each other in the end, despite digs and annoyance sometimes getting too serious.
I accused Elfs of boycotting to seek attention and I stick to that. I wasn't trying to hurt him it was just what I believed. The amount of times he called people apologists for going to games which I found personally offensive. I don't hate Elfs, I have never met him, but to my mind he has ruined this forum and despite numerous requests he has blithely gone on doing the same.
There is nothing wrong with “banter threads” or “Elf threads” ....people know what they are getting and if they don’t want to look, they don’t have to. It also satisfies Elf’s need for banter, mainly about himself. What becomes aggravating is when the banter spills into the football and Charlton threads every day, particularly irrelevant one liners on the match thread.
Hopefully he'll get on with joining in the football discussions now..as the Douchatelet era becomes a distant memory
Seek attention? For what gain with people I do not know. On this subject, Kojak should know better as he has had the pleasure of my company on a few occasions.
I have not been in a position to comment about the football for the past 30 months. Land Registry results permitting hopefully I'll be able to pass the odd word about the football.
And I added considerate. I could not see you go hungry. I lost an hour in the boozer selling the ticket you were desperate to get your dough back on.
This is the latest outcome of a seach for 'Roland Duchatelet' on the Companies House website (ten minutes ago) When this is updated to show no remaining connection between RD and Charlton Athletic, I will post that update here, and then I'll begin celebrating with all doubt removed from my mind. I don't have any agenda. I don't have any fanzines to sell. I want to believe the total removal of RD from our Club as much as any fan ever wanted to. But I won't believe it while even the thinnest shred of doubt remains.
Thanks for posting that link DickPlumb. The weight of evidence is overwhelming that this take-over is a complete one in all regards, and that Roland Duchatelet will no longer have any connection to Charlton Athletic in future. No connection of any kind. That is the way it is being presented to supporters (in so many words), and that is the way pretty much all of us are interpreting it. I have no agenda for wanting it not to be so. God knows I have nothing to gain if it turned out that we have not been told the whole truth, and that some connection (such as RD still owning the land) still remains. That would be my worst nightmare right now as far as Charlton is concerned. But my mistrust of Roland is so total, in my mind nothing is beyond him. No subversion, no trickery, no deceit. Even if the tiniest, tiniest doubt remains, I cannot allow myself to believe he really is 100% gone. And sadly, at this moment, for me the tiniest doubt does remain. More than anything else, I want that doubt to be gone as soon as possible. Certainly before next Saturday. PS: What does give me more hope is that the second entry on that screencap in my previous post; (Duchatelet being Director of CAFC Limited) is by all accounts certainly obsolete information, no longer correct. I am willing to believe that. So if that is still on the CH website when it isn't correct anymore, then it is equally possible that the Baton 2010 information is also now not correct. And all we need to do is wait for an update. But until that update comes, the tiniest sliver of doubt still remains for me.
