NLA is an excellent poster on Charlton Life. He called out the Aussies as potless chancers long before the CL glitterati woke up. His riposte to Raging Rick Everitt today deserves a wider audience ..... “Miss Marple”
NLA is a top poster. A recurring nightmare for me is being stuck in a room with the super egos that are James Seed, Airman Brown, Henry Irving and Prague Addict.
Off It is also an excellent poster on CL. Earlier today, Hayes pulled his trademark party trick by posting that he knew something that others didn’t. Even AFKA pulled him up. Off It called Hayes a “pious bell”
Back to the topic of RE. I don't know what bad stuff about him is true and what's made up. So I can't trust any of it. But he does appear to have attacked the new owners in the latest VOTV. I'm afraid he has gone right down in my estimation because of that. CAFC needs these new owners to put right the damage of the past 6 years. It doesn't need another incarnation of CARD undermining them. No fan is bigger than the Club.
He'll be a lone voice this time if he gets up to those sort of tricks. The protests against Douchatelet were already going when Everitt appeared with his megaphone and took centre stage. If he tries any stirring against the new owners I'll have to have a word with him.
Don't retire too quickly Rick - if Roland Duchatelet still owns any part of Charlton Athletic, the protests are not over. I've never been too keen on CARD or some of its tactics, but what it did was far better than doing nothing and just accepting the corrosive, destructive ways of Roland and his hated regime. If he hasn't gone, then I'm not through opposing him, and I hope you and every other Charlton fan who ever stood up to him won't be quitting either.
@lardiman It’s been confirmed by a rather more credible Rich ....Cawley not Everitt....that the new owner has the Valley and the training ground.
That is good news. But is it legally watertight? I don't trust that Belgian. Does ESI own the Club, the buildings & assets (The Valley stadium and the Sparrows Lane complex) AND the land they are built on? Rich Cawley has not specifically said that. The CAFC website does not specifically say it either. And neither does Companies House. In my view Mundell has raised a legitimate doubt, much as I might not want to give it any credibility. I just want to know with 100% cast iron certainty that RD now has has no connections of any kind with our Club. Then I can begin to celebrate again.
Companies House takes a while to update new information. Duchatelet has gone and East Street Investments own the Club lock stock and barrel. I don't know why some people can't accept that.
Because there is nowhere that it says so in black & white. Does it say so on the CAFC website? No. Does it say so on the Companies House site? No. Does it say so anywhere else? No. All we have is some people from various sources saying it has been done. And saying that Duchatelet is 100% gone. As soon as it does say so on the Companies House website, or as soon as the question is explicitly answered by ESI, then all will be well as far as I'm concerned. But I'm not going to believe it until I have PROOF. There is no proof yet that Baton 2010 no longer exists, or that Roland Duchatelet has no remaining connection to Charlton Athletic, in any form. I don't know how long it takes Companies House to update its web records. You'd think it would not be very long. But until they do, there is an inconsistency in what the CAFC website says. There is missing information - an unanswered question. I'm not Mundell's greatest fan. But in my opinion he has raised a point that needs clarifying. Until it is clarified, the issue is not resolved for me. So I'll wait for the final clarification, and in the meantime I am not willing to take anything on trust, since RD is 100% untrustworthy. How that position affects anybody else is beyond me. I'm not saying to anybody else they can't celebrate or feel happy if they want to.
