His “personal boycott” has become his USP. There was a genuine feeling of happiness in the away end at Swansea on Thursday night. New owner, new beginning, money for new players. As NLA has pointed out elsewhere, certain people need to start trusting again.
Assuming that Douchatelet has left completely, there will be different interpretations as to why. CARD will claim credit, as will boycotters and protesters, of whom I was one. Reality is that he left because his grand project was a disastrous failure, hubris caught up with him. And thanks to Bowyer&co he was able to get the price he wanted. Otherwise he'd still be in situ.
CARD have rightly dispersed the remaining £4,000 they raised from fans to good causes. No more should be heard of them. We are a normal football club, not a 24/7 protest movement.
Perhaps CARD should retain any monies they have. There may come a time when they will wish to engage again in protests against the owners due to lack of investment or similar.......?
