I lived quite close to Ferens school - played football/cricket on their playing field. I once totally fluked a golf ball hit clean across the playing field, it bounced off an old age pensioners bungalow roof, smashing a roof tile in the process - probably scared the old dear half to death. The picture is taken Kingscott side of the playing field, Cookbury side had chain link fence. My youngest brother was at Ferens in '72 but he's not in the pic, don't know any of the others. Apologies for adding nothing to the OP other than old geezer rambling.
Aye happy days.... bude park at the back of there. I lived down penrose close near roebank arcade. We played football on the grass near the arcade using the church wall as a goal.
There was a good wall for playing football on between Camelford and Stockleigh Closes - Bransholme was a good place to grow up in 60's & early 70's, I think we had the biggest playground in Hull, we ranged from the old balloon barrage camp at Sutton right across to the abandoned farmhouse on the edge of the river Hull! Ditch jumping and grass tracking old BSA banties - happy days indeed.
Yes it was a great time and place to grow up! Remember fat doris’ chippy and the offy at the side of drake pub?
I know about half the lads in the photo. As a clue, What’s your first name, if that’s not too impertinent
It's no problem if you want to share details on here, that's your choice, but don't forget there's a PM option if you'd rather keep things private.
