Last year was a good year for live music for me - here's a few of the bands I managed to see, in no particular order.... Foals Yak Pete Doherty & Puta Madres Fontaines DC Fat White Family Idles Mogwai Twilight Sad The Cure Foo Fighters The Wailers The Murder Capital Beans on Toast Black Country New Road John Cooper Clarke The Blinders Slow Readers Club John Grant Hot 8 Brass Band The Vaselines The Skids And So I Watch You From Afar Shed Seven Massive Attack Bjork Gig of the year had to be IDLES at the Barrowlands, one of the best I've ever been to. Summer Sessions with Twilight Sad, Mogwai and The Cure was pretty special, especially as I've wanted to see Mogwai for years! Special mention to The Murder Capital - destined for big things, saw them in a small tent with about 70 other people. Fat White Family were pretty amazing too! And of course, extra special mention to THE SKINS, best band in the west of Scotland
This years live diary is starting to fill up.... Colonel Mustard Hot 8 Brass Band The Twilight Sad And first acts for festival have been announced, with Belle & Sebastian, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Pussy Riot, The Bluebells, Dry Cleaning and McLusky - bring it on!!!
Cannot wait to see these.....I've been a huge fan of both McLusky and, when they split up, Future of the Left. Now McLusky are back!
