First it's today, now it's tomorrow morning. Feels familiar. I suppose it's a bank holiday and not a match-day for us, so that might explain it. Tomorrow though I want to read about a signing - not another excuse. If it's Cameron Jerome I'm not going to be impressed. He might be OK, but at 33 he will be a gamble. We've had to gamble season after season under Roland. Lyle Taylor was about our only really decent signing since we were relegated in 2016. Well...and Josh Cullen. A few others have worked out, but only because they were gambles that came off (at least partly). We can't gamble on Championship survival. We need odds-on decent players.
Please, Roland we love you; come back, all is forgiven!! If this is the type of player we can expect with the new owners, then we should have kept Roland. This was their chance to show fans they really mean business; and it seems they are just full of hot air, and have failed big time. Who took the air out of the balloon?? Relegation now looms
I don't think it is confirmed as being Cameron Jerome. And even if it is, isn't it a bit strong to say we should have kept Roland? By the way, I am waiting for the first Charlton fan on forums to post that and actually mean it.
i would understand cameron jerome, but it would be a waste. we're better off waiting a week. wait for the new owners and sign players for the long term and not for the next 5 minutes
Reading Bowyer's interview with LondonNewsonLine it's a concern that only 3 players are expected to arrive in the January window.
We needed a player who could come in and make an impact tonight. The club have missed a trick, especially given how weak our line up at Swansea is likely to be. We are down to 19th and after the FA Cup break week have the league leaders at home. We need to start picking up points now, not in mid January.
Think we need three of them type players minimum at the moment , one at the back one in the middle and one up front
Where would you start though, strengthening the midfield so as to protect the defence a bit more or get solid defender in ? , like I said we need minimum of three
The midfield is the strongest part of our team, with the emergence of Albie Morgan and Cullen to come back next month. We also have JFC () . The defence is a car crash, no matter what permutation Bowyer uses we keep conceding soft goals. We also have three full backs who can’t play wing back ....
We need a left back and a young centre back urgently but first off we need someone to play centre forward tonight!
Alex Mowatt could be a possibility as one of the two being brought in early doors. The other is a Premiership forward on loan.
