An easy win for Saints i expect. And i think Holmes may get himself on the scoresheet.

Now come on SaintStinger, cards on the table, no messing about, it's time to come clean. What score would you consider to be an easy Saints win tomorrow night.
By the one goal ?? maybe two ?? or possibly three then. Or could it be four ?? or maybe five or if the Saints run riot even 6 ???.

Phil Brown visits not606 before picking his team, so I only ask then Phil Brown will know what sort of team to send out...<laugh><laugh>

    <ok>

Don't want to butt in on your conversation, but if you'd like a second opinion, I'll say 3 Saints goals with no reply, would be an easy win. Or 4-1, 5-2, that sort of thing. Mind you though, no offence, but I'd like Saints to rattle up a cricket score, I'm quite miserly on the goals against front. No more than 2 back for you once we get to 5 or 6. Like this:

    3-0
    4-1
    5-2
    6-2
    7-2
    etc...

Sorry I can't feel more generous. I doubt if the Lads will be either. FWIW, have a good match anyway.

I am really looking forward to the game now and for what it's worth my team would be:

    Bart
    Stephens, Martin, Hoiveld, Dickson
    De Ridder, Schniederlin, Chaplow, Holmes
    Forte, Lambert

Bench: Davis, Reeves, Richardson, Hammond, Lallana, Guly, Warde-Prowse

Saints to win 3-0 Lambert, De Ridder, Guly

I think PNE will think they're gonna be beaten by the Saints. So the pressure will be off them to a certain degree. So I think this will be a tougher game than a lot here are predicting. I would like to see Steve De Ridder given a full 90 minutes to see what he can do and perhaps one or two of the academy to be blooded. I'm gonna predict Saints to win a hard fought game (with maybe extra time 2-1 or 3-2. Hopefully I'm wrong and saints win very comfortly 3-0 or 4-1.

There are only two results tonight: we win (super-smug mode) or lose (we really need to concentrate on the League anyway). The only result I don't want is to go out on a penalty shoot-out (heart attack time).

We will possibly have two decent wingers on the team tonight so hopefull of at least causing your backs a bit of a problem and seeing us get on the score sheet . :)
Not bothered about the win, just a decent performance from the fringe players, the league, for us, is much more important than a cup run,

Same goes for us, but I realisticly think we have a chance of making the semi's/quarters if we beat Preston tonight and get a kind draw in the next round. Maybe Arsenal? ;)

I think IF we win tonight the writing could be on the wall to draw Arsenal at home in the next round. For a lovely reunion with young Alex. God, it would be nice to get a chance to turn over the gunners.

True, but I'd prefer turning over AP's Newcastle, not that I've particularly got anything against him or them. It would be good to show the world how far we've come under Nige. I suppose that would be the case if we had anyone from the Prem, especially one of the top four, which Arsenal aren't likely to be this season. I know, neither are Newcastle, but you know what I mean.

You butt in as often as you like TheSecondStain, we all like a good laugh...<ok>...<laugh>.

Seeing as Lancashire are the new County Champions at cricket, PNE could maybe run up a cricket score as well. It was rumoured yesterday that Andrew Flintoff might make his debut for his home Town team as an opening striker..:)

Like finneyfan has mentioned PNE will have a new signing making his debut tonight and that will give PNE two cracking wingers, I can see problems ahead for the two Saints full backs..:), I am becoming more and more confident as the day goes on and looking forward to us getting a Prem club at home in the next round. Should we win of course..<laugh>

Enjoy the game whatever happens you always have promotion to look forward to..:)

    <ok>

Sorry flyingplumber you are absolutely correct. The old saying "Pride goes before a fall" is never more true than when talking about what your football team is about to do! I just hope it's a good game and while I am fairly confident about our progress to the next round... you never know!

Exactly what I thought, giving others a chance to start but still having best players on bench. Shows Adkins intent..he wants to win.

I'm thinking it might actually look like this:
    Bart
    Butterfield Martin Hooiveld Dickson
    Holmes Schneiderlin Chaplow Reeves
    De Ridder
    Forte

Although Jordan Sibley's formatting suggests Reeves up front. Hmmm am I right in thinking he was a left back?
