but roofe wanted pay parity with bamford... which we couldn’t afford... so we paid more per week for nketiah

... but only for 5 months not 5 years.

but yeh, a mobile striker with good movement who holds the ball up and scores a few, sounds just what we need. Anyone know any cheap ones available?

Given we’re now a winger down and have struggled to keep our 10s fit.... and given how nketiah didn’t pan out as turns out he doesn’t suit our system... the last minute decision to take nketiah on loan instead of Ryan Kent on a permanent maybe doesn’t look so good

I suspect you might of, these Premier League clubs have got the whole loaning of young promising talent tied down pretty tight. We had to pay a fortune to Liverpool for a failed loan move of Ryan Kent, he was awful and we got fined for not playing him enough. He's now 'starring' in Scotland apparently, says a lot about that league....

he’s a funny one Kent... looked a talent at Barnsley (ripped us to shreds) was a disaster at Bristol, apparently very good at rangers last year... might be the league, might be he’s matured a bit. That’s the thing with loans , sometimes they just don’t work out with styles of play, formations, whether the lad settles etc. Look great business when they pay off, but very often they don’t.

we’ve had a host of young premier talent on loan, and generally they’ve been gash for us.. before either:
    - going onto bigger and better things to our amazement
    - disappearing down the back of the starlet sofa, never to be seen again.

He'll have further to pass backwards then. You don't see too many back passes to keeper from edge of oppositions penalty area.

I agree we were spoilt with the loan of Tammy Abraham, nobody knew who he was until he came to us and he was a revelation and led to him getting his first England cap after his season with us, and now look at him.

what Im hearing is that Adams if we get him will be 2nd choice and sub for Bamford. If he is in fact any good he will be a great option but again we must ask the question: why did Southampton spend £15m on him and not use him? He has a scoring average of 1 in 3 and he also can play as a No10? He is our No1 target to replace Eddie.

Ayala will not be coming to Leeds as Bielsa doesnt want him and prefers to use Beradi, Ayling, Struijk or Casey

Not sure who yet but Leeds have got a replacement for Clarke

I think when we took Clarke, that added a winger and made them rethink the Kent/nketiah option. Thinking was that Kent could play winger or 10... and that bielsa might convert him to back up striker.

Hey that’s what they said at the time. Currently, Clarke has left, Roberts and Pablo can’t stay fit. A guy who can cover wide and 10 would have been useful... hindsight and all that.

I confidently predicted Abraham would flop in the Prem. Every time I saw him he had the touch of an elephant and the goals he scored were tap ins and scuffs. I clearly should have watched a bit more of him before forming an opinion <laugh><laugh>
