Scouser's what? And it would appear the whole world and his bent wife care very much about VAR since its empirically correct decisions have elevated Liverpool to their rightful, correct position. God, I wish brb would open up that politics thread again so you could continue telling the world that Trident is morally based in Lossiemouth, even though it's technically based at Faslane.
It's a long way from new you clown, the whole concept of the rule is to stop someone gaining an unfair advantage. You are a total waste of pixels and i really should know better
Physically based but a lot of admin done elsewhere, of course you are much to thick to comprehend such a thing
So it's an old rule that offside is determined before the ball is kicked if the beastly defenders are deliberately playing an opponent offside? Again I ask, how do you still keep the offside rule if it is to become measured by subjective rather than objective metrics?
Admin? You said the maintenance and testing regimes were done at its 'base' in Lossiemouth. Or your convenient 'mate' (who you later admitted served before the ****ing system was introduced) claimed it was, and only after you had been presented with evidence that it was based at Faslane (that you hadn't even mentioned at that point). But back to this - how do you administer the offside rule if it's not black and white? Put more power in the hands of potentially lucrative, corruptible, on-field officials to determine intent that cannot be scrutinised and rectified in real time? Gee, why would you want that again?
Fat Sam was the first proponent of "stepping up" in an effort to bend the rules (i assume you are too young to remember that), there was quite a big outcry about cheating but the refs eventually bent to accommodate him and things have gone downhill ever since. You implement the off-side rule by penalising players who try to get behind a defence to receive a pass during play, not when they are faster than the opponent to react to a possible pass (same with free kicks), it's not hard and never was.
So reading is another problem you have? I said that no American maintenance team had entered the base, this is because none had been given permits from admin. You really struggle don't you.
I remember the Dutch team stepping up in the '74 World Cup. Perhaps the greatest team never to win the WC, along with Hungary in '54 and Brazil in '82. And that last bit needs to be retyped in the morning when your Stella Artois has worn off. Seriously, when have subjective decisions about a player's intention, and whether they were faster than the defender, ever superseded the actual, objective rule of the starting position being when the pass/free-kick was taken? Should we get the Strictly judges to determine their view of the players' intentions as well by holding up score cards? Or what about a fan text vote to SkySports?
You didn't, but that's a new development. You reckon the admin for Faslane is done at RAF Lossiemouth?
He reminds me of me on the spuds rival thread, only difference is he argues a point and im like "LiVARpool and what!! you spud ****s haha"
Looks like I’ve missed a belter Both decisions vs Wolves were technically correct. VAR worked. What isn’t working is the review process. Nobody has a scooby as to what’s happening and it takes way too long - eg. Everyone and their dog knew after one replay that Lallana hadn’t hand-balled so why the wait. That said, it was the right decision so I’d rather the wait and the right call than being robbed of a good goal. That’s why VAR is there, right? The Wolves disallowed goal was unfortunate and harsh for them but technically right. The Armpit offside rules are a farce. Something needs to change here to ensure that attackers are not punished for attacking. The biggest issue is the feedback to players and crowd as to what’s happening and the time this takes. Both of these issues need to be addressed for next season along with the armpit offside nonsense.
Ex-referee sets record straight on Virgil van Dijk 'handball' ahead of Liverpool goal against Wolves Dermot Gallagher has his say on Virgil van Dijk and Adam Lallana 'handballs' ahead of Sadio Mane goal VAR allowed during Liverpool 1-0 Wolves https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...boola&int_medium=display&int_campaign=organic
The thing with the long wait for the Lallana decision meant that the added time afforded them a goal (which didn't stand but could have done). Quick decision on the handball means no extra time for the opposition to even get a goal chance.
Don't think there is a need for on field refs. Get the managers tp step in and officiate a half each. Contentious decisions will be taken care off by VAR.
My only complaint so far, how long it seems to take. Need to learn to speed it up. The Lallana one was ridiculous as it was easy to see. It took so long cause they then decided to check everything else, offside, VvD handball etc. If it goes to VAR they should only be checking the thing in contention. In this case it would only have been Lallana's shoulder as that was what the ref had ruled the goal out for. And I don't feel sorry for Wolves, if you are offside, you are offside. You can't be just offside or just Onside. Also it was his foot that was offside and by the very definition of the Sport that is a goal scoring part of the body. I also think that who Referees a match needs to be looked at. Why is a man from Manchester allowed to Ref a Liverpool game, there is a historic rivalry beteen the cities and not just in Football. I wouldn't expect someone from Swansea to do a Cardiff game or Someone from Leeds do a Sheffield (U or Weds) game. Neutrality is vital in ensuring a fair game.
