This only worked properly once Grosicki was off and Bowler switched wings, giving Eric a bit of back up.

I'm really, really impressed by that article. Well done Jonty Colman!

It must have taken real dedication and no small amount of journalistic skill to get so much drivel into 150 words.

This is a particularly well crafted sentence: Like goalkeeper George Long, Bowen is one of the only players in the Championship this season to have featured in every minute of league action this season.

It obviously takes a particular kind of genius to come up with such meaningless dross as that.

    POINTLESS STAT OF THE DAY:

If City had held every lead they had taken, they would currently be 12 points better off.

3 points behind the top 2.

The HDM seems to have lots of nonsense articles and poor writers.

I believe decent players can be raised through proper training and giving enough match practice. It needs time, but it's possible. IMAO McCann should work harder, i feel somehow he's underperforming. Also we can ask how many decent players we need to beat low-10 table placed teams 9 out of 10 at least. Do we need Messi to beat Nottingham or Charlton?

I think it's the midfield that lets us down, there's too much chopping and changing coupled with inconsistency. Lopes has been brilliant, but he can suddenly go missing in games or get dwarfed and he's ineffective. Him and Batty should start in that midfield every week, provided they aren't jaded, otherwise bring in Honeyman.

I think Irvine needs resting, in ideal circumstances, because since he came back from travelling to Australia twice in two months, he's not looked the same.

Lower ranked teams tend to scrap harder. We aren't a scrapping side like Barnsley, Charlton or Luton and it seems we come unstuck against these types of teams. A plan is being devised I'm sure.

At the end of the match McCann was having a go at the referee, anyone know why?

He was telling Burnsy that he was disappointed in the referee in the after match interview.

He commented that he was very disappointed with the ref and his failure to prevent QPR from kicking lumps out of City players throughout the game.

I think this has been a steep learning curve for McCann. As he said in his post match, (and we all want to see lovely football which we are capable of) they have tried to match up against the opposition and its cost. He might now have learnt to win ugly.

As for the midfield, I think it'll be Lopes, Irvine and someone new as I'm not sure he actually fancies Batty or Honeymoon in there, but has had to go with what he has. I did agree that if he/we could afford to do so, Irvine deserves a game or two off.
